I still need to check few things and test further but it is online

I just wrote some chaotic ideas I had in my mind and I learned how to do a simple layout
- Rules light #ttrpg
- Takes from #osr games and principles
- Inspired by 1400, His Majesty, Ironsworn, etc

Yeah, that actually replicates my sensations for my first My thicc bastionland game.

But I think your preference for playing the game straight is useful here. I found out that the game shines more and more as new sessions come and go and the emergent story starts to build up.

Actually, I would change the fiery counter rules to a table roll for more solo-friendly approach
Mythic Bastionland idea - Artifact

Fiery Orb

A black orb with a firestorm inside. It holds the power of flames, absorbs fire and radiates heat.

- The orb can be used to Deny fire based attacks. This action cannot exhaust.

After Denying increase its fiery counter by 1 (starts at zero).

Once the Fiery counter reaches 10, the orb starts to burn: roll a d20 at the end of a day phase. If the result is less than the counter deal the d20 result to the carrier of the orb as damage.

If the orb is abandoned, it will consume the whole hex and spawn the Inferno Myth at that location.

They let it be. No big interaction

But definitely adopted the talking centipede, taught it the language and it became a sort of loremaster of the guild

"No one in their right minds would try to eat this"

That is what I thought about the glowing moss in the Tomb of the Golden ghosts

The first thing the players did when they found it in my game was to eat it.
No questions attached

Last year was a New School year for me:
-His Majesty the worm
-Mothership
-Mythic Bastionland
-Cairn

And I left lots of things on the table that I want to gather, so I can learn from them.

At least I was able to publish a small rpg idea on itch: Elder;Lore (definitely the year of the beta)
For this year I want
- To learn more about rpg modules
- Run B/X or Old-School Essentials campaign
- Write my own adventure scenario
- Try other osr gems, like Mörk Borg
- Follow the dungeon course by Josh McCrowell
- Update, further test and support Elder;Lore
All that while enjoying the process

Telling myself this today:

The blank page is intimidating as hell, but if you cut that page in half—not so much. Focus on just one side. One half. One corner. Every intimidating project is a dozen trivial ones.

January 5, 2026 at 2:04 PM

January 5, 2026 at 2:02 PM

January 5, 2026 at 2:02 PM

In TTRPGs I've met:

labour organisers, worker-coop & affordable-housing advocates; lawyers working in immigration & human rights; card-carrying communists; etc

The Venn diagram between them and the folks who go: "If you like a certain style of game you are a Nazi" are two separate circles.
