PAX U this year was mixed for us. We had an amazing time saying hi to friends inside and outside of the con, but our actual convention experience was a struggle with an inaccessible consumer experience that we've largely outgrown.

i think young ppl who've grown up in the decades since where the kind of character and iconography represented by frank n furter is now just kind of the most commonplace mass media imagery of transfemininity are mostly just bored & unmoved by it. not really subversive to straightness even anymore
This tracks, as a lot of the writing/reviews on it I've read have been very "you young people just don't understand" in tone.

In that case, it's an inquisitive look at how actions and activity affect the game-state even without directly touching the mechanic; why it is important to have those scenes where dice aren't present, but characters are? If you go shopping but don't roll to haggle, are you still playing the game?

I keep saying this but it’s at least very interesting that many doctors didn’t think ADHD persisted into adulthood until you couldn’t buy Ritalin over the counter anymore and most people stopped smoking.
yeah tbh I’d really rather be on ADHD meds and NOT have to develop a two pack a day cigarette habit as someone who’s never smoked before just to function
I guess I can drink twelve coffees a day while chain smoking if you want me to do this in a socially acceptable manner, I just don't see how that's better for my physical or mental health than Vyvanse, y'know?
