Jon Lasser, an amazing writer and dear friend, passed yesterday. I’m so glad I was able to spend time with him last month and tell him how much he meant to me while he was still here.

Yesterday’s flea market adventure landed me a new friend. His name is Walter. Walter is currently masquerading as a mid-century, West German alarm clock. Walter also enjoys sleeping in and lazy, late summer afternoons.

I didn’t realize how badly I needed Worldcon. Sharing the past few days with some of my very dearest friends, finally connecting in-person with folks I’ve known online for years, and meeting new/inspiring people was a joy. It’s been a rough year, but tonight my heart is so freaking full.
