Oh God pet owner toxicity is universal
To anyone that says a cat shouldn't be in a store that sells food because it unsanitary...

Behold!

The cat washed themselves so it's totally clean and sanitary.

I do not think it follows. “There is value in the traditionally masculine coded virtue of courage” does not mean “women should be cowards” any more than “there is value in the traditionally feminine coded virtue of empathy” means “men should be sociopaths.” That is why they are called virtues.
The secret is that most of these guys are just lying. Or maybe better said they're taking a "politer" line for what they really want. We see it all the times in other areas where things you can't say on polite society anymore come up. The framing of "just be more attractive, capable, etc."

It is also confusing to know that there are a lot of options to improve yourself and still not know what subjects you should choose or where will you be when you make so much effort for them.
I get that these can be confusing times for young men. When I was in my teens and 20s, I felt many of the things people talking about Our Lost Boys complain about. But I think it is also worth noting that on paper there is nothing materially in the way of a golden age for traditional masculinity.
