Anti-influencer. I just stroll to the tune of my own harmonica and sometimes skeet about it.

I'm predicting here and now a Hunger Games style American Games next year to celebrate our 250th birthday. 50 states, 50 tributes, competing in 50 different "American" challenges. The residents of the state who sent the champion get a debt jubilee. Credit card, student, medical debts, all gone.
Complete failure to launch on my trip to Thailand. Stuck an extra day in LA. Grateful to have friends I love so much that I can't be mad at even when they cause me to miss an international flight. Lemons? Lemonade.

I would pay extra if Zwift had a Middle Earth setting. Gentle ramble through the Shire? Yes. Metric centuries across Rohan? Sign me up. High intensity Z5 bursts fleeing from the Uruk hai? Necessary.

The snow has returned to the forest and everything is peaceful and still.

Its taken me 5 years to realize the obvious. SLC is known for our sweets. The momos have exactly one vice: sugar. So we have the best cookies and cakes and cinnamon buns and bakeries and of course that dirty ass soda. Utah: come for the adventure, stay for the diabetes.

My 4th night home since October 11. Pajamas: on. Edible: injested. Ni No Kuni: playing.

Maximum coze.

Watching a show in Vegas is just peak entertainment. High minded plot? Save that shit for Broadway or the West End. We're here for one reason only and that is to push the limit of what theatre, magic, and the human body can do!

A work trip brought me to Chicago on this, the 50th anniversary of The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. The gales of November came early and we woke to 6" of fresh snow. Yet no one at the client site knew about the anniversary. This is why we don't include Illinois in the Upper Midwest.

Going to cities where you have friends and just letting them drag you around their local bars and haunts is 100% better than a death march through touristy sites. I have a much better appreciation for Boston from the beers, craft cocktails, and cannolis than I could have ever gotten at the museums.

The government shutdown does include cool old warships being shuttered to the general public, but glad I at least got to see Ol Ironsides.

18 hours at home and then back to work, waking up in Boston. Gotta pay for all that travel... by traveling more.

Never been to Boston. Gonna try to make it fun.

People who show up to the airport before 5 am with their hair coiffed honestly freak me out. Obviously vampires.

Switzerland has the farm to table of Wisconsin, the activities of Utah, the prices of midtown Manhattan, and the social safety of please god let me live here.

We left the Maldives with many wildlife sightings, from mantas to mantis... but the whale shark eluded me, so now I must begin a new life-long side quest.

Went on a scuba diving trip and ended up getting assigned homework!! But now I'm an "advanced diver" even though this is my first ever dive trip.

Spending time in Vienna is a good reminder that sometimes, very successful empires fail, and that it's ok. When Mozart died, George Washington was still president. I don't think anyone in 1790s Vienna was worried about America taking their place.

Lots of places can be an island paradise, with perfect palm trees and the sound of waves. Lots of places can be a bustling metro with scooters everywhere and people living on top of each other with noise and chaos and calls to prayer filling the streets. But Malé is the only one that is BOTH.

Just a little naked guy, creeping.

The old town hall, still sporting the cannonball from Napoleon's siege of the city over 200 years ago.

Ultimate Eastern European moment. Counterfeit Micky Mouse, with no idea how to play guitar, panhandling anyways.

Day trip to Bratislava because KLM lost my luggage. How did Eastern Europe get to be so much cooler than Western Europe?? The coffee shop we found was a jungle living room 💚

Got mermaid nails for the scuba trip. Nail lady told me how her 11 year old daughter loves mermaids too. We never outgrow cryptids.

Is the state of the nation getting you down? Try my guaranteed pick me up mashed potatoes recipe! Large amounts of garlic, butter, marscapone, cheddar, heavy cream, and, of course, potatoes and black pepper. Then chocolate for dessert.

And maybe call your representatives in the morning.

There is something about it being a "honeymoon" rather than a normal trip that has kicked my planning neurosis into overdrive. I must do everything I can to make sure we have The Best time because otherwise we don't really love each other?

I am once again wondering why we can't have hut to hut hiking in the US. And not abandoned cabins, but hostels in the mountains with food and schnapps.

Maybe it is my destiny to build huts.

As predicted, the high fitness friends nearly killed me. But the views were impeccable.
