it’s not that people from privileged backgrounds are being hired only for that reason, it’s that anyone without those privileges aren’t able to apply at the same rates

they’re locked out before they even get to the job application stage

creative industries as a whole have a class problem. you generally have to:

✨afford to be able to work for free to get initial experience
✨not have caring/financial responsibilities that might prevent you from opportunities
✨generally have some support system for insecurity/redundancy risks

✨google trends
✨read your comments and make response videos
✨competitor analysis - check what similar games to you are doing
✨start scrolling! get involved in tiktok and find content organically that you can jump on trends from/ see what people are talking about

it’s also not a perfect tool or something that’s going to save you/make you go viral on its own.

you still need good content and a bit of luck tbh but it can be a great source to get some ideas for content if you’re stuck

the point of hashtags and keywords is they’re supposed to link to what the video is about so its at best a waste of time and at worst confusing tiktok on who to show your videos to.

it’s the new #fyp and an instant ick to see
