It is embarassing not to see the BBC pulling up Reform leaders claiming that Nathan Gill was just some fan who got photos taken with Farage - he was an MEP for them & their leader in Wales while taking cash from Russia to act against the UK! Literally the very basics of your job to point this out

Paul goes way more in depth and detailed on this subject than… well honestly it’s worth. But I appreciate the consolidation of thoughts here

I say it’s not worth it as Reddit is already mad that he doesn’t know what he’s talking about and then take turns contradicting themselves…

Stop Killing Games originated from a laudable place but risks becoming a huge disaster if the industry doesn't wake up and deliver some workable proposals.

I've written up my thoughts on this here - please take a look if you care about these issues:

Never would have guessed that the murderous driver on the Carmageddon cover comes from this old Clive Barker comic. I think it's also my first comic book reference that isn't a Marvel one. @hg101.bsky.social told me about this one. samderboo.com/tracing.php?... #TracingTheInfluence

Pretty confused by how TRON became a big-budget movie franchise. Was it a bit hit when it came out? No. Did it become a big hit on video/TV? Also no. Do people have fond nostalgic memories of it? Eh kinda but not really. Was it secretly great and critically acclaimed? No again

Ah, happy 88th anniversary of the day Oswald Mosley tried to sell fascism to Liverpudlians – and someone concussed him with a brick
A man in a suit stands at a microphone which has been mounted on the roof of a van. There are loudspeakers at his feet, and a building behind him. He has an arm raised, and is flinching as projectiles are hurled at him, because he's a fucking Nazi

In 2014 I wrote for @newyorker.com about @kurtjmac.bsky.social, a YouTuber who began walking in Minecraft and never stopped. His quest was to reach the Far Lands, a place at the limits of the algorithmic world, where the landscape breaks apart. On Saturday, after fourteen years, he arrived:

I flagged this review as abusive to Valve, and their team... disagreed

so I guess Steam users can just spout this horrible shit, and Valve agrees with this

cool cool cool, cheers Valve

One cool feature of Steam is they provide a Harassment Zone for each game you announce. It's a place for people who hate progress to come and crap all over games they haven't even played. No, they won't help you moderate it, but hey, at least you can't delete it!

I find it very weird that people struggle so mightily with the idea of repurposing road networks like we did copper phone lines. We already did it once for motor vehicles! Nobody freaks out that you can't ride a horse on a motorway.
rclarke.bsky.social
I think there's a strong chance that something this is what roads will get used for in cities as private cars go away. You don't have to solve self-driving 100%, and it would have additive advantages even where good public transport already exists. iumo.org
