The tyrant tears the People's house down to raise a hall of mirrors. This is not a remodel, it’s an assault. The unmasking of a king. Our country is asleep while the echo of a republic bleeds out beneath the ballroom floor. These images should enrage every patriotic American.

Hofeller’s maps did not just use race data, they depended on it. He tracked thousands of Black students at North Carolina A&T State U by race, age, and voting status, then split the campus in half so their votes would be divided between two Republican-controlled districts.

It started with Thomas Hofeller, the GOP’s redistricting mastermind. When he died in 2018, he left behind 70,000 files showing exactly how Republicans used race data to redraw maps and entrench their power for decades. His files were the blueprint for modern racial gerrymandering.

Louisiana v. Callais is not just one case. It is the next step in a long-term Republican strategy to lock in political power through redistricting, the courts, and control of the law itself. Here’s how we got here ⬇️

someone should tell Trump they don't give the Peace Prize to people who blow up boats and murder those on high seas nor to those who deploy military against their own people. NEVER.

To be clear, 20 paragraphs down in the NBC News story that broke this information is the acknowledgement that Stephen Miller is driving the invocation of the Insurrection Act.
invocation of the insurrection act will be the key moment for everyone. the white house, any state where it's invoked, especially the supreme court. all public officials are ultimately responsible for acting in line with the constitution. a false invocation of the insurrection act, itself a ...
Nothing remotely resembling an insurrection is happening anywhere in the country. Any violence associated with protest has been isolated, mild, and, in nearly every case, instigated by federal law enforcement. If we let Trump get away with calling dissent an insurrection, our republic is over.

Check the timestamps. On CNN’s website, the uploaded interview starts at 2:52. On their YouTube page, the upload starts at 2:47. The “plenary authority” comment by Miller was at 2:41, as shown in my side-by-side video post. CNN should be reporting on what Miller said. It’s news!

Stephen Miller said the quiet part out loud. Trump has “plenary authority,” then suddenly went silent. Their plan wasn’t to be public yet. Clearly, someone hit the panic button in his earpiece.

It gets weirder: CNN uploaded the interview with the “plenary authority” comment edited out.

Are any democrats in leadership making this argument?
The White House is blatantly violating the Constitution, ignoring Congressionally-allocated spending. Approving any budget would put a stamp of approval on the end of checks and balances.

It'll hurt, yes, but it's time for opposition. The political costs will mostly fall on the people in charge.
Opinion | Democrats shouldn’t bail out Trump as the shutdown drags on
The best time for the opposition to take a stand, rather than settle for untrustworthy promises, is right now.
