Labour has probably radicalised the pro-EU base. Therefore, I am pushing my substack a final time: how Labour should approach any future EU debate.

Pam Bondi just sent a letter to Minnesota officials saying ICE will leave if the state turns over its voter database to Trump.

Guess what? This has never been about safety or immigration. It’s a pretext for Trump to take over elections in swing states.

I'll be called hysterical, but if what ICE is doing in US were to happen in many other countries – including traditional allies (see Turkey) – the West would put out coordinated statements calling for calm

Aware probably pointless, but this feels like a new definition of American exceptionalism

The videos circulating from Minneapolis are horrifying. Horrifying that it’s happening and horrifying that we are at the stage people are filming because they now (correctly) expect ICE agents to shoot protestors. Administration surely cannot explain this one away.

From a strategic point of view, I am not sure what this could possibly mean. The American logic re Israel is that it’s a reliable ally in a region where US interests run into problems due to unstable politics in places sometimes hostile to US. The situation in Britain and Europe is not comparable
