While we all get swept up in Westminster, take a moment to think how fortunate we are

This is where the offside rule really annoys me. Jesus ran onto this ball and was taken out. Penalty not given because of offside. If he wasn't leaning forward he wouldn't have the same momentum to reach the ball. Offside should be where your feet are and not discourage positive play

I know Bezos wants to suck up to Trump, but this rebrand of a once-great paper feels a step too far

Given what a mess it’s been, it’s kind of bizarre how they can expect doing more of the same but harder and more extreme is the answer

The final step from a credible academic to a living meme.

Rutte does have a point but should word it more delicately. You cannot on one hand demand EU allies pay more but on the other say it’s all indefinitely futile without the US and expect people to believe both at the same time. Europe can theoretically do anything it wants, it’s more about time

An ICU nurse. Fucking hell. I hate that whenever one posts this stuff it feels like some kind of rage baiting or whatever. But it is so shocking. An ICU nurse.

The pace of Trump discourse is insane. At the start of the week he annexing a nato territory. I’ve been off work today and it’s like I’ve missed six years of a soap opera

Zelensky is correct, no matter how painful it is for us pro-Europeans to admit it. I wrote about this the other day. We must keep US onside until we get real on how reliant we are and do something about it.

Most Trumpian thing Farage has said so far? I don't like the banks for personal reasons so I will tax them?
January 22, 2026 at 11:17 AM
While obviously Trump backing down is a good thing, there will be two frustrating immediate consequences: 1) he will be praised for doing so despite having caused so much unrest and disruption and 2) the lesson he will learn is treat allies shabbily and you get what you want
