Darren Bent says pressure may threaten Arsenal’s title chances. Don’t get upset, it’s logic. We finished 2nd three times, succumbing to pressure. It’s a great reminder that games now, matter. If we build a points buffer now, that inevitable pressure is far less on us.

“Arsenal are far more than they seem. Anyone who thinks they are nothing more than set pieces welded onto grisly defending is not looking properly. They have the ingredients of a team ready to blossom.”

Arsenal show they are much more than just set pieces and dogged defending
The home win over Atletico Madrid showed how Mikel Arteta is evolving his team into an open, attacking force

Although he’s admitted to a slow start, put Haaland aside, and Gyökeres’ total goals in all competitions this season competes well with leading strikers in the EPL:

Haaland - 15

Thiago - 6
Gyökeres- 5
Mateta - 5
Woltemade - 5
Richarlison- 3
Ekitike - 3
João Pedro - 2
Sesko - 2
Isak - 1

Absolutely fantastic second half, and that's a great result against top quality opposition.

Brilliant set-piece to crack the game open, amazing assist from MLS for Martinelli's goal, and great to see Gyokeres get his brace. He needed those goals, regardless of how they went in!

A v positive night

I like this second half

A strong episode. I get what James means about Gyökeres not being a natural fit in this team. Weirdly, it’s why I’m delighted he’s here. Post-Jesus, we may seek a third striker who’s a silky, fluid #9. For now, as our “big unit” fwd, Viktor’s a real reason we’re beating low-block EPL opponents.
Arteta cares less about being bookmakers’ favourites for the title, and more about the eye-test: “The only thing that I embrace is when I see the team, the energy, the temperature, the commitment and the quality that they can deliver… it gives me that conviction that we can go all the way.” #AFC

I am shitting my pants, but then I shit my pants every week we play now as I think we are good enough to win the league, but I don't care what anyone says, you need a bit of luck to win the league, something that I felt had abandoned The Arsenal for years.
Not a fluid and dynamic win, but an incredibly important one, at a ground where we’ve struggled to win for some while. Get in! #AFC
How are you feeling before Fulham away, @gunnerblog.bsky.social? My, how 24 days can change a football club. ⚽️
yep, i can see that POV! just not how I felt coming out

We’re not even close to exploring what this transfer will mean to the club: but I expect the next few matches will start to give us a taste of our new number 10. #EzeTime

In less than a week, we’ve won two on the spin, Liverpool’s lost two. Our “first six fixtures from hell” finished with a trend-defying come-from-behind win at St James’s. Finally, Arsenal enjoys some feel-good factor again, as the “bad luck cloud” sits over a different team for once. #AFCBelieve

Newcastle away, Liverpool away, United away and City all done, and we are 2 points from the top with a better goal difference, lots to be proud of.
We went to within two points at the top. And Newcastle’s season to this point effectively fell to bits in 10 mins. Get in.
