439 years ago today, Mary Queen of Scots was beheaded. Mary was the Queen of Scotland from December 14th 1542 until she was forced from the throne in 1567. She took the throne when she was only 6 days old. And in 1587 she was beheaded after being accused of plotting against the Queen of England.

The Wizard of Oz was the first film to show a tornado on screen, which ended up being one of the largest expenses of the film’s budget. The studio actually didn’t recoup the cost of the movie until it re-released it a decade after it first hit theaters.
