Wednesday war comics post!
These were in crap poly bags, so past pics/scans were badly in need of replacement. Now I have new Mylites/acid free boards in place.
These are all great covers, but I'll pick the War Action Sal Brodsky cover. I also love the Lee Elias covers!!

Cruise reading:
“Did You Hear What Eddie Gein Done?” (2021)

Somehow this sat on my nightstand since 2021/2022, unread. So I threw it in my luggage.
It’s fantastic!

On May 11, 1950, while working on the Rawlins National Bank in Wyoming, a construction crew unearthed a whiskey barrel that contained a human skeleton with its skull cap sawed off & an odd pair of shoes. Dr. Lillian Heath, now in her 80s, was asked if she knew anything about it...🧵

Blue blazes! You read the opening pages, and it’s like hearing the voiceover from some sprawling epic movie which makes you feel deep in your core that you’re about to experience something massive and special. Yet this is just a regular old issue of Grimjack. Issue 18 to be exact.

I know it’s a bit early but we will be on a cruise ship next week so, here’s a #Thanksgiving comic cover from 90 years ago posted a bit early!

I had a physical & three vaccines in the past week. I’m ready for vacation (which starts Saturday when we board the cruise ship in NYC). We have someone house & dog sitting.

I hear this owl with my ears long before MB does. I have to get almost on top of the call before MB registers it. I’ve never seen it (no surprise it’s always at night) despite attempts with flashlights. It doesn’t seem rare to hear but obviously it is rare to see!

One of my non-war Kubert covers! I know not a traditional bondage cover but I’d say it semi qualifies.

My wife and I just finished watching “Being Eddie” on Netflix. It was excellent! It’s clearly been in development a long time but I’d say it was worth the wait.

It feels like an Al Williamson Tuesday night. Here’s 4 issues of the 1960’s King Features’ Flash Gordon series with cover & interior art by Williamson. I first discovered his art in the Marvel Star Wars series & also in the newspaper Star Wars strip Williamson illustrated.

Our Fighting Forces 84 (May 1964) cover by Joe Kubert. Gunner and Sarge (with their dog Pooch) was a fairly long-running feature in this title. And a few years later, they’d also be included in the lineup of The Losers. This battle-damaged copy could use the @flatnclean.com treatment!

Our Fighting Forces 105 (Feb 1967) cover by Joe Kubert. Capt. Hunter was a short-lived recurring feature in this title starring a Green Beret in Vietnam searching for his brother, a fighter pilot whose plane had been shot down by the Viet Cong.
