We all know that life isn’t fair but it sucks that’s the case. Thinking of my friend - I spoke at his service a little over a year ago. Chatting with his wife has made me teary-eyed.

What’s a comic you’ve read recently that made you go “Wow”?

I bought a small run of Strange Adventures in '24, finally scanned them all. I present: issues #205-#216
Of these first four issue#207 is an amazing cover!

Sunday matinee with my wife on Disney+
I love this movie, haven’t watched it in years. It’s hard to believe it’s been 26 years! The music is awesome, performances top notch, and cinematography is excellent.

Some more new scans of books I'm inventorying/updating.
I tweaked my settings in the scan software & it's brought up some contrast & a little saturation. I'm pleased with the results.
Of this batch I have to go with Exciting #43. Schomburg knew how to make a dynamic cover!

New scans of books that need to be inventoried!
Hard to pick a fave book here, I'll go with The Beyond #17 (1952). I mean, who DOESN'T want to create a Lyre of Doom in their D&D campaign?

Top Shelf Friday time, Friday the 13th edition!

What's a comic in your collection that you love? ❤️

This week, Thrilling Comics #52 (1946). One of my better condition Schomburg books (most of which belong on my top shelf, let's be honest)

Just wanted to comment: I’m still thinking about this story and the graphic novel overall. It’s making me consider getting some turtles issues or compendiums. This was really good.
I have a long history with TMNT - I bought & read a trade of the initial issues in the late 80’s & for a while I bought monthlies but didn’t keep it up. I saw the early movies & cartoons but the franchise escalated & changed hands & I left it some time in the early 90’s. 1/2

Actual footage of Vince Guaraldi performing "Linus and Lucy". I'm gobsmacked that this exists, but utterly thrilled too. www.youtube.com/watch?v=9EMf...

Tech from XFinity showed on time, & fixed the internet & cable relatively quickly. The filter on the line was broken. There must have been some event (ice?) that stressed it to the point where the filter broke. He redid the filter, splitter, & connections & it was working before he drove off.

Spinning this free album from the Craigslist batch. I was raising hearing ND so if the album has no skips I’ll add to my collection.

Now spinning:
An absolutely seminal album in my musical growth, a part of my life since its release in 1973, played for me by my father repeatedly when I was a child & by me since my teen years.

One of the 200 free Criagslist records I kept.
I’m enjoying this a lot more than I expected (since I didn’t expect to enjoy it at all.)

Grade: B+
I am not sure why they needed to have FF come from an alternate universe but since it looks like they’ll be in the next Avengers movie I can get past it. Loved the casting & look & feel of the movie.
I was not crazy about the Surfer changes initially but I got past it.
Finally watching The Fantastic Four: First Steps (2025) on UHD.
I’ll reply to this later with some thoughts.
