I can’t remember - just remember thinking that the tune was brilliant for, I think, a sort of old-fashioned black and white, funny, clip of Anne up to something or other!

Today (date), the Slender-billed Curlew was declared extinct. The first bird extinction on mainland Europe in 500 years — on our watch. Extinction is final. No going back. Think about that.

Iconic is a word that is definitely overused but in the case of the Piece Hall in Halifax that is not the case. Built in 1775-9, it is a rare surviving example of a large-scale, purpose-built cloth hall. Historic England has praised its architectural and historical interest

Halifax station was redesigned during 1884–85 and completely rebuilt with six through platforms a year later. The station opened in two parts. The new station had separate accommodation for LYR and GNR trains; the latter being on the west side

It should be a “core service” of a “cradle to grave” health service to provide peaceful and dignified places, such as Arthur Rank (I have personal knowledge of this hospice), where there is time for the care, attention and respect that is due, for someone to die.
