Strange watermark for a sheet that is supposed to be from the beginning of the 16th century (a fleur-de-lis within a double circle surmounted by a crown). For the most expensive foot in history, one might have expected a more convincing watermark or not? We are still waiting for an explanation ....

Be a Venetian prisoner walking from the interrogation rooms in the Doge's Palace to the New Prion via the 'Bridge of Sighs'. The name suggests that prisoners would sigh at their final view of beautiful Venice through the barred window before being taken down to their cells.

Slemp is warme melk waaraan saffraan, kruidnagel, kaneel, foelie en suiker wordt toegevoegd.
Zilveren slempketel van Th.G. Bentveld uit 1845, te zien in de tentoonstelling Zilver met geur, smaak en gevoel in Zutphen.

This tiny Rembrandt self-portrait shows him in his work clothes sitting before a mirror, drawing his features on a copper plate. Something may have gone wrong when the plate was being bitten by the etching acid and Rembrandt gave up working on it after pulling only two impressions on Japan paper.
