Gisteren overleed mijn literaire held,schrijver Cees Nooteboom, op 92-jarige leeftijd.
Voor 'Brommer op zee' (2022) ging Wilfried de Jong bij hem langs op zijn geliefde Menorca, om te praten over werk, leven en dood.

Gisteren overleed mijn literaire held,schrijver Cees Nooteboom, op 92-jarige leeftijd.
Voor 'Brommer op zee' (2022) ging Wilfried de Jong bij hem langs op zijn geliefde Menorca, om te praten over werk, leven en dood.

Ooit gehoord van een toeterschelp? Deze dateert uit de eerste helft van de 18e eeuw. Door op de schelp te blazen kon men communiceren tussen schepen.
Deze schelp is gevonden op de Reede van Texel, bij archeologische vindplaats Scheer 2.
15-20 cm groot.

Ooit gehoord van een toeterschelp? Deze dateert uit de eerste helft van de 18e eeuw. Door op de schelp te blazen kon men communiceren tussen schepen.
Deze schelp is gevonden op de Reede van Texel, bij archeologische vindplaats Scheer 2.

Cees Nooteboom overleed vandaag in de leeftijd van 92 jaren. Hij was mijn literaire gids. Als ik hem las, hield ik vaak een interne dialoog met hem. Ik houd van zijn poëzie, van zijn reisliteratuur, De Omweg naar Santiago zette een nieuwe standaard voor het genre. Ik gedenk hem in dankbaarheid.

Strange watermark for a sheet that is supposed to be from the beginning of the 16th century (a fleur-de-lis within a double circle surmounted by a crown). For the most expensive foot in history, one might have expected a more convincing watermark or not? We are still waiting for an explanation ....

Be a Venetian prisoner walking from the interrogation rooms in the Doge's Palace to the New Prion via the 'Bridge of Sighs'. The name suggests that prisoners would sigh at their final view of beautiful Venice through the barred window before being taken down to their cells.

Zilveren slempketel van Th.G. Bentveld uit 1845, te zien in de tentoonstelling Zilver met geur, smaak en gevoel in Zutphen.
Waar komt het vandaan?
