I think there's an extremely valid argument that the wide adoption of sell sheets has only served to discourage innovative design approaches and create barriers to entry for new and marginalized voices in tabletop. And for some publishers, that's probably the point.

My middle school made-up friends game was essentially tag, but we played it on a set of wooden bleachers. You could only tag someone if you were on the same level plank as them and you could only change levels where the planks were bolted to the metal frame.

Constrained choices make better games.

Preach! I studied computers which is an opaque discipline to many, but I had already taken that persistent self-image on board well before I went into that unfortunate profession.

I can tell you that form of impostor syndrome makes it very challenging to change professions later in life.
