It's amazing just how little people understand about how money, banks and our governments work
Here's a story that tells a small part of it ...

🚨Being anti-Zionist is not being antisemitic.
🚨Being anti-genocide is not being antisemitic.
🔴Australia does *not* have to listen to or act on the demands of those fighting a foreign 100-year apartheid race, religious, real estate genocidal war from here or kowtow to its foreign interference? FO

Big tech is spending millions to push back against rising opposition to data centers.

Meta has spent over $5 million in the past month on ads promoting data centers.

An industry trade groups is also ramping up lobbying, and sending talking points to members of Congress.
Data centers have a political problem — and Big Tech wants to fix it
A growth engine for the economy is becoming a political albatross. Can messaging change that?

Albanese's in-built allergy towards decisive action provided a clear field for the most vile anti-immigration racists to turn it up to 11

The media's total failure to interrogate, scrutinise or contextualise any of the claims 'immigration did this' provides a glide path for hate x1,000

How profoundly and sadly crass!
Per @garretthaake.bsky.social, the extremely tacky "presidential wall of fame" that lines the colonnade to the West Wing now has obviously-Trump-penned plaques insulting or praising the presidents.

In 1990, Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait for their oil.

In 2025, Donald Trump wants to invade Venezuela for their oil.

Different dictator. Same playbook.

Howard IS unbecoming. Always was. Always will be..
“John Howard’s contribution, with its focused criticisms of Albanese, was unbecoming for a former prime minister. The effect of his intervention was to give his assent to the Coalition to go full bore on politicising Bondi.”

www.smh.com.au/politics/fed...
Howard has gone too far. His comments about Albanese tear us apart
Slagging off the man entrusted with trying to steer the nation through this powerfully difficult moment will not help John Howard’s side of politics.

The idea that changing a definition to include criticism of Israel as being anti-Semitic and cracking down even further on anti-genocide protests would have in any way made anyone safer is madness. That the Coalition have so comprehensively jumped to blame here is insanity. Who is this speaking to?

Thames Water has deferred £2.5m bonus, disguised as retention payments, to execs.

First tranche of £2.5m already paid, millions more promised

Bonus for what - fleecing customers, dumping sewage in ruvers, not investing, boosting profits?

Let customers vote on exec pay/bonuses.

Govts will need to be careful how this is applied

White Nationalism logic: A White South African is welcomed as a refugee, but a Black child is unable to assimilate.
On that last post: I genuinely cannot think of any good-faith reason to bar international adoptions from those 39 countries. Under this new ban, consulates will refuse adoption visas for any baby from Cuba, Haiti, Venezuela, Nigeria, or any of the 39 other countries.

The video is from WCCO, it shows ICE agents dragging a pregnant lady and pinning her down to the icy cold road while other people scream at them that she is pregnant and suffocating.
Though it is repulsive and maddening to watch this scene, it needs to be shared to hold those agents accountable.

Screw them - we don't want them here anyway.
They contribute bugger all to Australia, take all our resources and cause untold damage to the environment
The only ones that profit are the shareholders, politicians and executives
Aside from servicing the dwindling domestic market ...
THEY CAN GO!
"This week, US energy giant Chevron warned that government intervention into our gas market may damage investor confidence. Woodside keeps bemoaning how hard it is to do business here while making bumper profits," writes Ed Husic. "We’ve seen this all before." satpa.pe/bkhXBw5
Courage needed on gas policy
ANALYSIS: “We need better local gas pricing For Australia, that means doing something hitherto unthought of: telling multinationals that the cost of doing business here is to provide better prices for Australians. These firms can then make up the difference through their export price.”

MIDDLE CLASS WELFARE
Australia is one of the few countries in the world where taxpayers subsidise non-government schools. As more students shift to the private system, the cost to taxpayers continues to escalate. satpa.pe/brciFgI
Private schools’ million-dollar principals
The government is yet to compel private schools to publish their principals’ salaries, despite concerns that taxpayers are supporting packages up to $1 million a year.
