That book was such a topic in Catholic circles! I believe it was a Book of the Month Club selection, and I got a hold of it before my parents did. My mother was horrified!

Not a gift idea, but a tip: a good WWII podcast is “We Have Ways of Making You Talk.” I discovered it about 6 months ago and was thrilled to find FIVE YEARS’ worth of back episodes.
