On a more speculative and sad note: Does this mean that Locus Walker consuming Krysson's heart was actually an attempt to try and save her, and that there was a possibility they'd have been able to be together if Xal'atath hadn't killed LW?

However, unless I'm misreading the situation, it seems as if L'ura has been present/conscious within Alleria all this time, and presumably just waiting to be liberated -- presumably by Xal'atath.

Does this have implications for every time a mortal has consumed the essence of a magical creature?

Now... We've always known that the magic granted to those who absorb these cosmically-aligned beings isn't "free". It usually comes with that school of magic trying to influence/control the wielder, necessitating a perpetual battle for control.

L'ura being absorbed by Alleria in the Seat of the Triumvirate wasn't a unique event -- WoW's been replete with examples of magical beings (especially those belonging to a particular cosmic force) being absorbed by mortals to take their powers.

Demon Hunters are probably the best example of this.

At this point it's been all but confirmed that L'ura is the "true" final boss of the first tier of Midnight (assuming you count March on Quel'Danas as part of the first tier).

Lore-wise, her ability to "break free" of Alleria raises a number of pretty big questions.

So at this point I, sitting halfway across the world and not having resided in the United States for over a decade, have "randomly" had 15+ articles suggested to me about why Zohran Mamdani being elected mayor of NYC would, apparently, be nothing short of apocalyptic.

The desperation is comical.

Post Brianna Wu O Subscribe Trans sisters. I'm pretty sure I was wrong. I an somy. I genuinely thought that as a trans woman, if ceded some points with the gender critical crowd we could have a healthier conversation and arrive at better public policy. The problem is, they are getting crazier and more extreme. If you admit "trans women don't belong in women's sports" they agree, but call you a man the whole time. If you admit, "I understand I am a biological man, but this is how I want to live my life and talking about me like this is degrading" they scream about free speech. If you admit that hurtful language is part of free speech but you don't have to associate with people that degrade you, they act like the victim and call you a man and then say you should be thrown in an insane asylum. It's like this on everything. They are incapable of looking for a middle ground on bathrooms. They want maximalist policies on everything. They'd throw a fully transitioned, fully passing trans woman in male prison genpop and laugh as she got aids from being raped. I want a middle ground on so many of these polices. BUT THE FUNDAMENTAL PROBLEM IS THEY DO NOT. They enjoy degrading us, it's fun for them. So, sisters. I genuinely don't know what to do. I think many of our most extreme ideas are bad. But theirs are worse. So if I have to pick, I choose us. I wish there were a political vehicle for compromise and medical safeguarding. But that just simply does not exist. Anyone who's known me for a protracted period of time might remember that the past several years have been marked by a lot of loss and grief.

Meeting my boyfriend has been one of the few good things that's made this part of life a little better. I can only hope there's more to come.

It's been a bittersweet day.

I got to spend it with my boyfriend and affirm how grateful I am for us being able to spend as much time together as we have.

Unfortunately, his recent promotion (which I'm still very happy for him for getting) means that he'll be here much less frequently from now on.

That's a great point too and makes sense. I'm assuming that she's deliberately avoided reform and other progressive Jewish circles specifically because they embody and practice many of the values that she quite clearly doesn't.

Only thing I'd add to what others have said is that Brianna's willingness to sell other queer folks, her own trans kin included, downstream is not unconnected to her support for a genocidal settler colonial entity that's currently continuing to brutalize the population whose land its occupying.

I've agreed with more meta complaints about how much SL messed up the entire notion of there being an afterlife, how it created extremely awkward plotholes relating to the presence of dead/undead beings in the game up till then, etc.

Arthas was just.... Yeah. I don't need to go further.

Honestly, one of the biggest plusses to come out of Shadowlands being retconned (i.e., established that it's not the true afterlife) is that it also means characters like Arthas, Garrosh, and Ursoc aren't "extra dead", and that there's some possibility of seeing them again down the line.

I think it's *awesome* that Harandar's story ties back to all of the World Trees + the Rift of Aln connection, rather than solely being about Elun'Ahir's roots (which is what I assume the original Rootlands story was going to be).

Just don't forget these details!

Elun'Ahir, despite being a more recent addition, is equally important when considering that the Haranir's existence was first hinted at when reading about it.

I'm not sure if there are other World Trees I'm forgetting, but yeah -- if *all* the World Tree roots are in Harandar, this feels important.

Lore-wise, both are *highly* significant -- I'd hope that they'd see redressal.

Chronicles tells us Vordrassil is where Yogg-Saron was first able to infiltrate the Emerald Dream and plant the Nightmare.

Considering that the Rift of Aln is a big part of the Harandar storyline, this seems relevant.

So, question for anyone with current Midnight Alpha access: Does Harandar have dedicated zones for:

a) Roots from Vordrassil/Andrassil (i.e., the corrupted World Tree in the Grizzly Hills)?

b) Roots from Elun'Ahir, some of which which as almost certainly saw in Khaz Algar?
