Making progress on loading/creating any* ATproto Lexicon into/from your own customizable text editor, so you can easily create and edit them (with your preferred editing experience) from anywhere you wish........like the personal Astro blog you just logged into 👀😈

*starting with Bluesky and Leaflet
A bluesky post next to a text editor with the same content

Aaron is involved in a number of IETF standards work around OAuth as well as lots of indieweb infra

TLDR if you have a custom domain you can do indieweb logins by entering the domain, or link to your account from your website indielogin.com/setup#atproto

But Eli, what’s the point of configuring DNS through an atproto repo? What’s the advantage?

Instant websites. Wanna set a Leaflet custom URL like blog.stream.place? That’s one click. No logging in to your registrar. No obnoxious, obnoxious-to-copy-paste TXT record. One click boom done.

doll should add a github issue tracking tested endpoints so that people know a good spot to pitch in

i'm not really sure if the takeaway from labelers is that third-party moderation doesn't work

probably makes sense to let you use oai or anthropic instead of local models too (e.g. if you don't have a machine that can run the models). you should be able to use either of these super cheap (like, certainly under a few dollars a month unless you're using the more expensive models or get piled)

Yeah—the first thing you do is ban all the grievance collectors, but you need a legendary heel to do it because they are everyone’s favs and we all know it
magnificentlycursed.com
I think this happens because power users become grievance collectors and each decision is an opportunity to relitigate and propagate the whole circle of grievance

standards folks!

if you are in to this sort of thing, we now have an IETF mailing list to discuss AT protocol bits.

mailman3.ietf.org/mailman3/lis...

if you want to jump in, I recommend setting up an overall IETF datatracker account and reviewing IETF IP policies ("note well") first

I'm helping @dollspace.gay debug atproto #bsky_appview proxying and remembered this tool. Exactly what I need right now

It's here! ATStudio 💫

Try the beta: at-studio.dev

Execute XRPC and SDK requests on #atproto. It's like Postman/Paw, but for your favorite protocol.

I love this—dodges the block and list monitoring madness where setting an “I do not want to interact with you boundary” drives some people into obsession and wild speculation

Want to remark on a sentiment I've heard from the AT dev community ‒ in specific words, even, from @bmann.ca, @knowtheory.net, and @rude1.blacksky.team, which I'll likely botch here:

Lead with joy, not fear.

I think that belief shows up a lot, and it's really affected me for the better!

last week, added a small service to send images to and receive back both OCR text and a perceptual hash of the image. now, here’s the fun part: hash matching in automations using PDQ and Milvus.

everyone should be able to run one of these on their own. personal moderation really ran by you.

I’ll pitch in on this one, Doll. The business side of the Apple AppStore presents some challenges that I know well
