If you ask me he's publicly disgusted with them, and secretly loves them, but wishes he didn't.

Killjoy! Snow day roulette is way more fun.

Better take a run to Costco today.

My dog does this too. Also poops in an 8 ft circle when on the walking trails. Also have to keep her away from it to make sure she doesn’t eat it before I can even open a poop bag.

I have a few cans in the freezer. I'll keep them for a few years and they'll be worth a fortune.

It wouldn’t be illegal to add a shot of espresso to it either.

Timing is suspicious. Hope the PC's aren't thinking Kenmount Crossing is suitable. 😆

Great article!

…and Signal Hill brought it all together. Seems community outreach is now considered a luxury the university can’t afford anymore.

No. As much as community hub as a conference centre. Home to Genesis (startups hub), the Harris Centre (public policy - closed late 2025), the Gardiner Centre (continuing education kind of). I think it was largely a victim of the pandemic, tbh. Community involvement has been a big thing for MUN…

You're mixing up your buildings. Signal Hill Campus is not home to scientific research labs. It's conferencing services (and grad student residences) and is a renovated building (formally a hotel). Also worth mentioning that capital costs are significantly externally funded.

She looks particularly proud of her ears. And who wouldn't be?

<40 students went there in 2024/5, and it costs $1million a year to keep it going. Maybe the students could put up $25k each for the opportunity of studying there for a semester? There are more efficient ways of getting an international experience. UK work reqts don't help either.

…and there it is. The finished product. Apart from the tear out, which I think is pretty normal for pine, it did come out how I thought it would.

Concocting something in the workshop. It’s an exercise in detail more than something that’s actually useful. Can you guess what it is yet?
January 24, 2026 at 3:06 PM
Most people in St. John’s can’t. 😀

I did a garden cleanup this morning, but they were all frozen to the moss. Still, maybe that means no need to dethatch in the spring.
January 17, 2026 at 9:02 PM
I can live with that.

Sure, but the wind is pretty scary. How about we settle for just sun? :)

I understand that even a student union's job is to fight against authority, but the negative attitude of their rep is really not warranted. They could be helping rather than hindering. 🤷‍♂️

Still another 18 months of winter left grasshopper. Plenty of time for snow to return. You might even find that your house has been blown into the woods making for a much more authentic snowshoeing experience when it happens. Hang in there. 😜

If there’s a better obituary for an evil cartoonist than an A.I. generated version of his character that fucks up the defining detail of its design, I can’t think of it. No notes. 👨🏻‍🍳 💋
