The Secret Lair x PlayStation is technically not art of this Superdrop, as it drops on Oct 27th. Reviews on that drop will come after the Scare Superdrop on Monday! 🖤

Secret Lair x Iron Maiden: Eddie Unchained

The last Lair in this drop is the 2nd IM Lair. I really like the mill/card draw theming. Nekusar and Windfall have been printed in Lairs before. This Lair feels like the choice for IM fans as it can be slapped i8nto the CZ (and I love this for them).

It features a nice spread of removal + graveyard interaction (with what feels like a random extra turns spell). While I don't play any of these cards, this more feels like a Lair meant to celebrate the art (and definitely be displayed on one's wall).

It is definitely a Lair I can say isn't for me.

Secret Lair x Iron Maiden: Album Art

While I don't listen to IM, Eddie is iconic. The art? Unmatched. It feels like the early days of Magic when it was grungy (in a good way).

Reprint-wise, we have a nice balance here. Grave Titan has been in a Lair before, and technically so has Lignify.

Dreaming Darkly

Jim Woodring's art is unmatched here. It is delightfully creepy. The Archmage is the only reprint in this Lair, leaving you with a solid lineup of new cards to add to the pool. Roon is a classic, Soulherder is iconic in blink decks, and Project is a powerhouse in any green deck.

Trick or Treat

Everything about this Lair makes my heart sing. Good legends. Cute art. Halloween!!! These are also all new cards to Lair (technically not for Wilhelt but I think the bonus card doesn't count). I love this Lair so much, and seeing Voja was a surprise that I am definitely not mad at.

Artist Series: Kieran Yanner

I remember them talking about how all these cards were originally printed in Alpha. While I like that, only half this Lair feels optimal from a gameplay pov. The art is amazing and we all know the star of the show is the Tutor. This is a huge boon for Lair collectors.

While I like the Office, it doesn't feel iconic enough IMO to be featured in Magic.

My main critique is the reprints. The only new to Lairs card in this drop is Garruk Relentless. The rest of the cards have been featured in a Lair before, so it really comes down to art preference.

Secret Lair The Office: Dwight’s Destiny

I get why people don't love with this Lair, but it has grown on me. Dwight does feel like he would play Magic, and the references are general enough for those who aren't fans to know. The US Office is 20 years old, so it does feel late for this collab.

Secret Lair: Doo-ay Noo-lah

This art gives me cuteness aggression in the best way. A Lair like this is the only exception I have for Lair reprints. This Lair (minus Call) has been printed in previous Lairs. I am okay with this because these are CMDR staples. I like variety for pieces like this.

Secret Lair: Furby: The Gathering

Another Furby Lair with cursed art that knocks it out of the park. The classic Furby just hits different. This Lair is another win for me because it only has one Lair reprint. Sphere of Safety was in the Johannes Voss Lair. This is definitely a good Lair for CMDR.

Spellskite and Serum Visions are the only reprints in this Lair, with the remaining being new. The art direction here is absolutely superb. I am honestly surprised that they didn't save this drop for April Fools in 2026. I love this so much.

Secret Lair: The Oddbodies

Furby and Magic felt like an inevitable collab to me. Had they ignored the meme nature of the cursed Furbies, I would have marked this as a lost opportunity. I am so glad they didn't drop the ball.

Secret Lair x Jaws: Terror of Amity Island

This is probably my favorite Lair in the entire superdrop. Not only is it horror, but it provides killer reprints alongside a new mechanically unique commander.

What's even better is that all of these cards have never been in a Lair before.

I love all things spooky and Secret Lair, so we have to do a review of the Secret Scare Superdrop before it goes live Monday 🔽🔽🔽

For @hipstersofthecoast.com, I wrote about the Through the Omenpaths Flavoring Project—an ongoing fan-based grassroots effort to add flavor text to all the cards in OM1 that would otherwise have them!

I’m really happy with this article. Give it a read!!
