I think it’s a fine feeling to have but if I’m being honest the moment I stopped craving validation was the moment I actually blossomed as an artist
I don’t think ppl understand the whole “who cares if nobody likes it! make content for yourself” is extremely dismissive
Bc we ARE making the content for ourselves but it feels /bad/ when people don’t engage or show interest. You can care about both at the same time

Read some of atom the beginning, and it’s actually really good! I really enjoyed it but I would say it’s more tezuka inspired rather than an in universe comic
