THE YORK FACTORY EXPRESS: FORT VANCOUVER TO HUDSON BAY, 1826-1849
The provisioning post of Fort Pitt was established on the North #Saskatchewan River in the early 1830s, and for the first winter, at least, the HBC men lived in tents. #YorkFactoryExpress

Upriver from #FortLangley was a large lake on which the Sto:lo people made their homes, living in houses on stilts to protect themselves from mosquitoes. The Lake no longer exists, unfortunately.... #TheHBCBrigades
