I said before the game yesterday I’d almost accept a defeat as long as we played well showed what they we do. But what I don’t understand is why we make it so hard. They had 6 players out injured & lost 2 central defenders during the game. Yet in the last 20 minutes they were the better team 🤷‍♂️

It often happens that the pace & physicality of the Premier League comes as a shock to some players. Similarly the fact that every week is a tough, competitive game. Great players like Alonso & Suarez rise & adapt to the challenge. We have to hope Wirtz is of the same calibre & mentality.

Spare a thought for the travelling Reds who are making their way home after the game. It’s always gutting to lose a game like that and Liverpool is a long old way home when you’ve just lost 3 on the bounce.

I watched Wirtz closely when he came on. Other than that incredible touch to play Salah in, I don’t think he didn’t anything of note for the rest of the half. I think he needs to up his work rate. There was no intensity in his game when they had the ball & closed players down at a jogging pace.

No mate I don’t have a problem giving him a contract. It was the right thing to do. I don’t though think he should be an automatic pick if his form goes out of the window. I said during the game I’d give him 10 more minutes & replace him with Chiesa. You could tell Mo wasn’t going to do anything.

If age is the reason then we shouldn’t have given him a new 2 year contract. I don’t though think it is. He’s done it throughout his career. Every season he has a run where he doesn’t play well & the goals dry up. It usually happens in the New Year after he comes back from International duty.

We’ve got some big problems. Haven’t played well all season but have snatched victories out of the fire in the dying minutes. None of the new players have made much of an impact & we can’t keep a clean sheet to save our lives. Is that just 2 in the last 11 games? Arne has got some work to do.
