Dicen de la escultura favorita de mi padre que fue urna cineraria, guardesa de los restos de algún personaje de la alta sociedad ilicitana. En su momento estuvo pintada y tenía los ojos «vidriados» 💘

Historians say of my father’s favorite sculpture that she was a funerary urn, guardian of the remains of some high-ranking figure from ancient Ilici. She was originally painted and had “glassy” eyes 💘

What surprises me is that the covers are made of glass. It reminds me of many Portuguese burials, where they usually don’t place a headstone to cover the coffin 😊
