Time to glue parts together starting with the engines. I first needed to thread through the wires for the running lights. Then I soldered red and green lighting 2mm tower LEDs in place. They’re clear when unlit. I did this for maximum brightness. Clear paint blocks some light.
A Daedalus class model’s engine and strut sit on a green hobby mat. A brass support rod and a set of green and black wires jut from the support. The wires are fed through the engine and out it’s front section. A 2mm tower LED is clamped with a green wire about to be soldered together. The lower portion of the LED is painted silver to block light anywhere but the tower and to also reflect the blocked light up through the tower. Below is the Daedalus class secondary hull and two attached engines.

It has been a long time since I saw this one, so I immediately watched after listening to your show. You’re completely right, it does go over differently as an adult. I was actually shocked how not cartoonish the Rozhenkos come off. They’re just regular parents worried about their kid.

Every season of SNW has to have a Spock high jinks episode, and this one came sooner than expected in Wedding Bell Blues. We'll discuss why Spock is only allowed to be funny in silly episodes and how disturbingly one sided Pike/Batel is. Then we'll tell you what we're binging lately!

Considering she didn't say a thing I didn't already know (and like) about him, I though this was satire at the point where she's fake typing on the keyboard. But you're telling me it's real?

The warning should really be the US and UK will leave themselves vulnerable if they embrace 19th C pseudoscience, fill their universities with yes men, and deny anything discovered by certain ethnic groups. Fascist ideology is the actual barrier to advancement.

Love that he frames this as a “warning”, but every act of pushing the “Nazis had better tech” myth is pro-Nazism. It normalized the idea that on some level they were, in fact, superior. But they politicized science. They didn’t believe in the principles that could actually make superior tech happen.

From what I’ve read some studio heads are taking it seriously, but I think its performative. Either they’re dumb as rocks or they’re pushing it to have a leg up during the next negotiations. The MSM’s obsession with this boring tech demo is only helping them.

Good luck to them getting it to look the same from shot to shot (it doesn’t) and getting more than a few seconds of footage of it before it visually falls apart (they can’t). This is really more of an attempt to devalue talent into submission than to make an actual product. Let’s not fall for it.

I was in junior year of high school when the bronco chase happened and freshman year of college when the verdict hit. Someone got a text and the professor was like “just tell everyone”. Somehow I don’t remember the classes reaction.

I just got a bottle of mastic liqueur while I was in Greece and I'm shocked you could drink a soda can worth of it. Not because of the alcohol content, but because it's so intensely sweet.

We're starting a new run of episodes reviewing this season of SNW. This week we take on the conclusion to Hegemony. Then Ryan watched Murderbot and Mark watched Alien:Earth but neither of us wanted to sit through the other. So, we spoil them for each other while discussing their similar themes!
And Now For The Conclusion…
