While not a lot of snow will fall between now and Friday, the winds are expected to increase substantially, with 50 mph gusts probable, thereby creating white outs and difficult driving conditions.

The second map is the amount of snow expected at NYS Thruway exists between PA. and Rochester. 2/2

A budget is more than just dollars and cents on a bunch of spreadsheets, it is the plan in which we propose common sense solutions to address the needs of our community.

Our 2026 Budget does exactly that. It is a fair and responsible budget that addresses our needs: www3.erie.gov/budget/count...

The new Erie County Winter Storm Scale Website will be an important tool for the county as we prepare for and respond to winter storms. Click on the below link to view it, though it will not show much now because no snow is expected for the next 3 days.

The new Erie County Winter Storm Scale Website was designed by the NYS Mesonet Center at the University at Albany. Using the @nws.noaa.gov Winter Storm Severity Index as a base, the Mesonet team created a site with much more info than you can find on any weather app.

At 11 AM, I will be announcing a major new online tool to help our departments prepare for and then address winter storms. This tool will be available for the general public and was designed by our friends at the New York State Mesonet.

I would expect comments like this from yesterday's White House "guest," Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman not the President of the US.

It is not only unacceptable, but dangerous and could lead to someone's death. We settle our differences at the ballot box, not by violence. Full Stop.

Since 2020 we've rebuilt more than 600 miles of roads, half of our county roads. We can't impact what cities, towns and villages do to repair their roads, but we can for the county. It's all part of my commitment to do our part to ensure your drive is as smooth as possible. 2/2

Since 2020, we've invested $250.1 million - a quarter of a billion dollars - in our road and bridge infrastructure! That's why today I was pleased to join DPW Commissioner William Geary and Deputy Com. Karen Hoak on Maryvale Drive in Cheektowaga to highlight our 2025 investment of $47.5 million. 1/2

While I am proud of how our region responded to the storm, 14 people died, others were injured, and some lost their homes from the crushing weight of 7 feet of snow. #WinterStormKnife was that bad.

Thank you to all who responded to the storm. Your incredible work will never be forgotten by me. 2/2

Do you remember where you were 11 years ago?

If you were in the southtowns and parts of central Erie County you were in the grip of one of the worst winter storms to hit our region: Snowvember, or Winter Storm Knife as we called it. 1/2

It took a lot longer than it should have but the truth will come out now that the Epstein Files will be released.
Hopefully the young women who were sexually abused when they were children will finally see their abusers held responsible for their despicable acts.

Today I received a call from Commissioner Dan Martuscello of the NYS DOCCS who informed me the Collins Correctional Facility will not be closing. The facility will be consolidated and all employees will remain on the job.
While not the best outcome, I am pleased the facility will remain open.

Did you watch the first episode of Ken Burns' "The American Revolution" on PBS last night? It was outstanding. The second episode is on NOW and is about 1775 through July 1776. You should watch it and if you missed last night's episode watch it here: www.pbs.org/kenburns/the....

The federal government had not released any HEAP funds yet. As such, all HEAP payments will be delayed until 11/24.

No one should live in a cold home but for too many of our neighbors that is becoming a reality. I join Governor Hochul in calling on President Trump to release HEAP aid to the states.
