68 years ago #OTD, Sputnik 1 (PS-1), the world’s first artificial satellite, was launched from Tyuratam (now the Baikonur Cosmodrome) aboard a two-stage rocket, a variant of the R-7 intercontinental ballistic missile.

Text is mangled up horribly.
Straight sharp edges get wobbles and bumps
Regular repeated elements get randomised.

Not usable, except maybe in the background. But who wants a million polygon background element?

Wow…seven years ago already. All space artists dream of exhibiting in a NASA art exhibition. To be approached directly by NASA for permission to exhibit one of my space paintings is on a completely different level of excitement and satisfaction. I still feel it now as I look back at these images.
