Once you add water to print developers, the clock starts ticking. Should get about 50 8x10" prints per Liter of working solution. If you need to stretch the solution to a full 8 hour day of printing, add some cellophane wrap to the tray before you step out for a lunch break.

Last year I scored a lot of used server gear that had an LTO drive amidst the e-waste.

Over the span of months and after some: hardware disassembly, tinkering, and learning some new operating environments, I'm finally adding TAPE to my backups.

The kind of nerdy 10 year old me always dreamed of.

A stack of LTO7 taps sit atop a laptop perched on a server rack in what appears to be a dingy basement. A tape is being ejected from the LTO tape drive and from the mess of cables in the background one can tell this is a very DIY computer project.

It's finished!! "My Avian Neighborhood": in total almost 100 hours of work in the span of 27 days to complete. So very proud of this one, it's going to be hanging in its first show over the next few months. Thank you to everyone who cheered me on, the species are in the alt text of the image! ✨

Everyone this is important, today is Zill's 12th birthday.

She's been with us for 10 years now and has gone from a shy, retired racer to a distinguished older lady. 1st photo is from today, 2nd is from her gotcha day in 2015.

Zill, a red fawn female greyhound turns 12 today. She's wearing a pointy party hat that reads "party animal" and is standing in the kitchen licking her chops in anticipation of a piece of cheese.

Two twenty-something Millennials (male and female) hold their very first retired racing greyhound, a tiny red fawn lady named Zill.

Quick update: lines are done and I'm ready to paint! Very proud to have gotten this far already.

Drawing on illustration board of birds, 42 distinct species, all of which are found in Central Ohio throughout the year, either as permanent residents or migrating breeders. Species are all arranged in patterns of flight, and are situated based on size and also relative areas of the air column where they may be found (for example, the vultures are towards the top, as is the chimney swift). Sizes are not exact but do their best to remain relative based on position on the board and also species. While all species will not be listed here at present, the final will list all species and the order in which they occur from left to right.

Pray for me as I do my best to get this mammoth of a project I set for myself finished in a month 🙏 it's gonna be so worth it though. (The final will be a 16"x20" illustration)

PS if you can read my scribbles, you're a god. I'll list the species on the final image but not here.

There are 42 species represented, and all of them are ones found in or around my backyard in Central Ohio. These range from large bald eagles and great blue herons, to small sparrows and hummingbirds. The birds are all in flight poses, some carrying items or harrasing their bird partners.
