@smerconish.bsky.social while minorities have fought for eduction, to be able to afford housing, or create a safe home, men…particularly white men, haven’t. For generations they knew the could find a wife (as women had no options) & could get a job. They forgot how to work hard for a better life.

I work in the DEI space in Canada. My certification needs 20 Credits per year and is logged in a platform owned by company located in Florida with a cloud located in the US. For the first time-ever, I reached out to my association and said…”I am not comfortable with my data on DEI being in the US.”

I watch what is going on in the US in horror. I work in the EDI space and realized today my country uses a US company whose cloud servers is in the US to host our credentials. I have do not want my data on my work in this space held in a US cloud. What a sad day.

Trump has mistaken Canada’s kindness with weakness. Even if the trade war is stopped, Trump has ruined the American Brand in Canada. Canadians will be steering away from American products and seeking new trading partners for years to come.

BC announced actions as a result of Trumps Tariffs. I love this one:
The BC Liquor Distribution Branch will immediately halt the purchase of American liquor from "red states" and remove top-selling "red-state" brands from public liquor store shelves.

Cancelled my Amazon Prime today. Have to say this one hurt…I’ll likely still buy from Amazon but not as often and will look to avoid. I’m a proud Canadian and don’t want to put my money in Bezo’s pockets. This one hurt.
