As a long-time NHGRI grantee, I am so sad to see Dr. Green’s strong and successful leadership of this institute end this way.

Thanks Senator @kim.senate.gov for the science round table at Rutgers. We discussed the importance of NIH funding for R&D, workforce training, & helping patients. Politicizing the NIH threatens our global competitiveness and quest for disease cures.

Thanks @jeremymberg.bsky.social for a great example for explaining why basic science research is critical, why many science discoveries take a long time, and hence, why our strong scientific community should not be whimsically interrupted!

I have been trying to find the time to move away from the polical hellscape we find ourselves in to finish and share a bluetorial about science.

This helps me remember what this is all about.

Ironically, it is about the treatment of pain.
