I've just returned from a short family holiday to St.Ives. I'm not normally one for chasing sunsets but the setting sun over big waves crashing onto Porthmeor Beach was not to be missed.

There is real depth and feeling here. Bravo.

I love the texture here.

Heather in full bloom up on Askwith Moor. A wonderfully peaceful spot to enjoy a sunset and take in the expansive views over Wharfedale. Well worth the walk up before the heather is gone for another year.

Magic!

I'm going to guess you thought about keeping or removing the little buoy. I'm glad it's there as it punches way above its weight in holding the composition.

Thanks JB!

The little Silverbirch on the island and the grand Scots Pine in the background sit in complimentary opposition here and make a great composition.

I like the minimalistic converging lines here.

Having zoomed in, I also love how excluding the canyon floor instantly transforms this into an engaging abstract piece. I love the tones in this.

I could spend hours composing and playing around with how ferns behave in changing light. This is lovely.

A fine specimen and an evocative passage.

Beautiful depth to this one.

I really like this. It blends soft and hard contrast beautifully.

The layering of light you have used here really holds the eye. Lovely.

Such a delicate and beautiful collection. "weeds" does not do them justice!

It’s not all trees and landscapes for me. Nature offers smaller treasures too — a dragonfly hovering like a tiny helicopter, a ladybug exploring a leaf shell, a peacock butterfly vanishing into camouflage.
Slowing down enough to notice them? That’s half the joy.

With dignity, deep in the heart of a rarely visited forest in Nidderdale, sits an oak that shows every stage of its steady decline. Yet it retains its grand sense of strength even as it gives itself back to the earth.

A midsummer sunset over the Otley Chevin, one of my favourite places to return to with my camera. Waited for this moment—and it gave back more than I hoped for.

I’ve seen plenty of roe deer slip away into the woods—but yesterday one stayed. Three encounters in two hours. Same deer? Maybe. Either way, it paused long enough for this dreamy image. Wildlife photography might be pulling me in deeper… #roedeer #wildlifephotography #yorkshirephotographer

The more time I spend on the Chevin, the more rooted I feel in its landscape. Less about taking pictures, more about connection and noticing. Making images there feels like a natural response to being present. #woodlandphotography #BlueskyPhotography #BlueskyNature #nature

Herb Robert, Herby Bob, Stinking Bob, Death Comes Quickly.... Whatever you call this tiny pink wildflower, you have to admire its resilience for being able to thrive almost anywhere.

A new local woodland for me. A fine mix of mostly Silver Birch and Oak above the village of Harden in West Yorkshire. Definitely on the list for a return visit.

The first stage of dealing with an addiction is acknowledging there is one; but I'm not ready to admit my Beech addiction yet!

Beech are consistently one of my favorite woodland subjects. Seeing their delicate spring foliage is both rewarding now and building anticipation for the same composition in autumn.
