If you want to know why Reform is coming, read this typically incisive dissection of Alison Pearson's latest column by the indispensable Mic Wright.
NEW | The Daily Telegraph, anti-immigrant rhetoric, and some very weird Winnie the Pooh fan fiction...

A column from Allison Pearson shows how Labour's attitude to asylum seekers will never be cruel enough for the Right.

The MAGA rolling in the gutter. The corruption is so brazen. Out in the b open and arrogantly in your face. A gaping moral void filled with the very worst people American society could find.

They would pimp their own mothers if the pedophile racist demanded it.
This is what Dirty Donald was plotting with pedophile protectors Pam Bondi, Kash Patel and Dan Bongino as a way to suppress the release of the Epstein files. Trump is the central figure in the most sinister pedophile scandal in American history. Watergate pales in comparison.

Unless someone in the Treasury reassures the markets pretty soon, there’s every chance the UK will need to raise *more* tax for less in return. Total clusterfuck in the making, this.

Having a budget fall apart more than a week before it’s actually be delivered might be a new record.

Watching Labour is like watching a ship being tossed too and fro by a storm that consists entirely of rightwing op eds, focus groups and Reform outlets.

No evidence of where it wants to go or how it intends to get there. Every sign that it is making up the budget as it goes along.

Unforgivable

So further proof in the Guardian that Labour got this completely wrong. And so did most of the political class and the pitiful UK commentariat.

The million dollar question.
How has the government got itself into the position of standing up for Israeli football hooligans, while criminalising peaceful supporters of Palestine Action?

Amazing how the Orange Bone Spur man who ducked military service revels in killing and violence done by others to others.
Trump brags to military leaders about his strikes on boats: "They don't want go fishing. I don't blame them. There will be no fishing today. It's amazing what strength will do."

After all the horrors inflicted on Gaza, to have Tony Blair presiding over the ruins as the emissary of Trump and Netanyahu is the final moral disgrace.

Why can't Starmer say this sort of stuff?
Thousands of Londoners have indefinite leave to remain.

They have legal rights and are our friends, neighbours and colleagues, contributing hugely to our city.

Threatening to deport people living and working here legally is unacceptable.

The most terrifying thing about the Reform/MEGA surge w/ regards to the US isn't that so many British voters don't see the cruelty, illegality, authoritarian overreach, white Christian nationalism, bullying, incompetence etc - it's that they do see it and want it.
