I have been throwing around the idea of parent-child social media literacy training classes as part of a potential more nuanced alternative to a social media ban for under sixteens.

Get kids and parents together in a classroom with some sort of mocked up social media and show how it affects both.

Every university has had "academics" Goodwin. A third rate mind who simply refuses to accept that his colleagues don't rate his work. Thus, he pushes extremist ideas to get the attention he can't get through research actually respected by his peers. A tedious man who deserves the ridicule he gets

I think Ian Russell's position is much more nuanced and thoughtful than that of those pushing for an outright ban. If the psychiatric consultant had trouble sleeping after viewing that content, why are social networks not instead held to account for presenting it at all?

It's genuinely a tragedy that Rik Mayall died before Cameo became a thing. I suspect people would be willing to pay well to have him call them a total bastard.

At this rate the next candidates to join Trump's "Board of Peace" will be Thanos and General Zod.

Here's hoping Trump will be the first person ever to get bottled off at Davos. Even better if it's the full on Reading Festival type of bottling.

Someone needs to slap Donald Trump and tell him to grow the fuck up.

Elon Musk’s X is helping people create indecent images of KIDS. His response to outcry this week? He doesn’t give a f*ck.

Imagine his face if millions get the f*ck off of X though. Join millions deleting their accounts.

There’s a big story everyone is missing—but this article hits on it.

We aren’t just seeing public health dismantled bc we’ve been taken over by conspiracy theorists and lunatics.

What we’re really seeing is the giant, predatory, underegulated wellness industry come to Washington.

The creation of CSAM on X is unrelated to whether children use the site or not. So what Badenoch appears to be arguing is that only adults should be allowed to look at CSAM. She’s also implying that that it’s rather judgy and illiberal of the govt to “not like” a CSAM generator

I'm not concerned in the slightest by yet another former Tory MP defecting to Reform.

Their careers are basically over at this point.

I've been saying for a while that we, as expert Laravel developers, are just moving a lot of our projects from rescuing bad offshore work to rescuing bad vibe code. You still need the experts.
I just finished up a call with someone who had vibe-coded an error into a revenue-generating application that cost the company 6 figures in (fortunately recoverable) lost revenue. It's recoverable because two developers with a combined 40 years of experience managed to unwind the problem.

Anyone posting on X now that it is documented as being a site for serious image based abuse, including CSAM risks being seen as complicit in that abuse. Everyone should be off the platform as a matter of urgency

Several things to note in relation to the X/Grok issues.
1) This new 'change' makes very little difference, and can be worked around
2) The 'blue tick' that allows you no restrictions has been a 'red flag' for a while - all the worst kind of people bought them
3) Grok exists in standalone form

It’s not about drugs. If it was, Trump wouldn’t have pardoned one of the largest narco traffickers in the world last month.

It’s about oil and regime change.

And they need a trial now to pretend that it isn’t. Especially to distract from his sinking under Epstein and skyrocketing healthcare costs.

There is, to my mind, no justification for the continued use by the UK Government of X as a platform for official comms. There hasn't been for some time, in fact, but if the latest developments around AI-generated image abuse and CSAM don't change the policy I really don't know what will.
