Wow. The county is charging the Ilhan Omar attacker even though the feds are also doing that, because they don't trust Trump to not pardon the guy.
This was a disturbing assault on @repilhan.bsky.social, who is frequently the target of vilifying language by fellow elected officials and members of the public.

Mr. Kazmierczak has been charged with one felony count of terroristic threats and one count of fifth-degree assault.

It’s 2026, the country is teetering on the verge of a fascist takeover, and already Democrats are getting “tamp down your expectations” lectures.

This is shameful. The man spent years working to undermine faith in public health, amplified by right-wing think tanks backed by big money to oppose anything big business doesn’t like.

His contribution to our discourse was a declaration that we should let people get mass infected for herd immunity.
Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, the director of N.I.H., was called a “fringe epidemiologist” during the Covid era. On this episode of “Interesting Times,” he tells Ross Douthat that the elites broke the public’s trust, and now it’s up to outsiders to restore it.

Government shutdowns inflict a lot of collateral damage on Americans.

But this government should not be funded.

Democrats should shut the government down indefinitely and focus on mutual aid.

"Only about a quarter of Americans today (27%) say they support all or most of Trump’s policies and plans, down from 35% when he returned to office last year. That change has come entirely among Republicans."

This is a fold by Senate Dems. Complete capitulation.

They get a separate vote on the DHS bill and they agree to keep the DHS money flowing.

They are hiding behind the Senate rules to pretend to be fighting while folding. 1/
Latest intel: The 5 govt funding bills will pass, & the 6th, the DHS bill, will get a continuing resolution to buy time to negotiate whatever these conditions in ICE are. The fight right now btwn Schumer & the White House is how long that CR will be. The WH wants 3 months; Schumer wants 1-2 weeks.

Not a whole lot of appetite on here for this announcement.
Minnesotans, we’ve been through a lot.

And I believe this moment calls for grit, resilience, and faith in each other.

I believe we must stand up for what’s right. And fix what’s wrong.

Today, I’m announcing my candidacy for Governor. youtu.be/SiV3xVkX-kg

Now, two of its authors hold key public health positions in the second Trump administration.

Trump is revoking protected status for tens of thousands of Haitians living there on Feb. 3.

Reportedly, on Feb. 4, 1000 ICE agents are arriving to remove this population. Ethnic cleansing.
