Watching Labour MPs take a wrecking ball to nature makes me so angry & so sad. Their action tonight voting down amendments to the #PlanningBill intended to protect wildlife & habitats from destruction is so reckless & so counterproductive. People didn’t vote Labour for this 👇

This is so good. A few choice quotes --

'AI is a "normal technology,"... But what we have come to see as "normal" is, in fact, utterly abhorrent, abysmal. Yiyun Li writes a lot in her book on learning to inhabit the abyss of grief. What does it mean to normalize the abyss?'

💡 CSS Tip!

Using modern CSS to create a responsive list of stacked images. The overlap will automatically adjust based on the available space and the number of images.

When I joined BlueSky I was going to be intentional and limit usage to work related things. But it seems I've been engaging mostly with people who share my non-work interests. Visiting here does feel confusing and overwhelming now. What's a good solution? Lists? Feeds? Thoughts welcome, thanks!

I spotted a book I have in my personal collection in Guillermo del Toro new adaptation of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. Elizabeth shows Victor a book she bought and it is “Episodes of Insect Life” by Acheta Domestica, M. E. S. a pseudonym for Louise M. Budgen, London, 1851.

Science says: global CO2 must fall ~45% by 2030 and reach net-zero 2050.

The IEA says oil and gas demand may rise until 2050.

Those two facts can’t coexist. The planet can’t afford it.

@coopgames.bsky.social Thanks for keeping all this old fantasy art alive. I remember your old tumblr for British old school gaming, an excellent collection! I'm curious: have you ever got into copyright trouble posting this stuff? Or is it old enough that it gets a "free pass"?
