There are comics that are great if not good, for instance X-Treme X-Men which does not and cannot work, but also if you tell someone about any part of it they're like W H A T so it's still somehow delightful.

X-Treme X-Men gave us Callisto with tentacle arms “coming out of the closet”, in one of Claremont’s least subtle instances of queer subtext lol

Go follow Yan! He’s the best! You’ve heard him on Escape the Mojoverse and you should be listening to @comicsanspod.com , absolutely one of the most thoughtful and hilarious comics podcasts, so of course, one half of the show is also thoughtful and hilarious. #comicsky
Repeatedly told @scottleechua.com I would never join him here after quitting Twitter. But as each and every platform seems to collapse and I lose more and more access to insightful cultural criticism, I've reneged on my word and rejoined the fray.

What comic book made you cry #ComicSky?

This was the first (and I think only time?) I got teary eyed while reading a comic. Ellie is the best.

What comic book made you cry #ComicSky?

New Mutants 73. Dani will forever by my favorite New Mutant, but Rahne is the heart of the team and central to Inferno. The culmination of her and Illyanna’s relationship is making me cry right now. No one ever drew Rahne better than Bret Blevins.

🤖 NEW EP! 🤖

While scavenging for spare parts, cartoonist @sloanesloane.bsky.social rescues the head of a cyborg named Yan, and connects it to a Non-Autonomous Torso, or "N.A.T."

Together, Sloane and the fearsome creature read "Battle Angel Alita" by Yukito Kishiro.

When I reorganized my spice cabinet I put the cumin where the cinnamon had been and someday I’m going to not look closely and make the worst cup of coffee of all time.

So I’m getting into Green Arrow. Is one of his villains really called Onomatopoeia? As a new-ish DC reader I kinda love how unabashedly wacky naming conventions are there. Also the Joshua Williamson Green Arrow is so readable and fun.

Btw! If you’re reading along with us next week after Gen X 85 make sure to read The Mighty Thor 18-19. The Mighty Thor by Jason Aaron is one of the best marvel books of the last two decades. Big one for Quire fans. What a treat.

Our Generation X Marathon continues to the END of volume 1! The Revolution 6 month gap sure does wreck this book, but not worse than Warren Ellis' edgy 00's nihilism. There is fun to be had though! A great big hug from Monet and Jubilee and we see Jono with his shirt off! Check it out! #xspoilers

I wish Democrats would start just speaking the truth:

“ICE is killing American citizens in public for exercising their freedom of speech because Donald Trump wants to be a king.

This isn’t about immigration—Trump wants to make it illegal to oppose him, and to stay in power until he dies.”
