- but it takes up way more of this film than it really oughta. The excessive nudity is kinda a positive and a negative. Like, I love me some excessive nudity, but be real, how much of this film was just an excuse to get girls topless.
A mixed bag, but you kinda know what you're getting into.

14. After Party Massacre (2011)
There's an energy to it that's missing from many, similar such no budget affairs. Still, it does become a bit repetitive by the end, and the characters can be a bit obnoxious in parts. I'm an admitted fan of the low budget film trope of letting a local band play (1/2)

13. Intrepidos Punks (1988)
The film's sexual politics are definitely a little rough, but it delivers plenty of scenes of fun punk antics. Actually, with head punk's design, a lot of this feels like pro-wrestling. Good time if can get past some of the more problematic elements.

You couldn’t make Django Unchained today. Conservatives would get mad that it's "too woke."

12. Hercules in the Haunted World (1961)
They really don’t make em like this anymore. Beautiful, brightly colored sets, wild effects, fun monster galore, and not one dull moment. I will never trust the taste of someone who doesn't think this is cool as hell.

11. Nail Gun Massacre (1985)
Nah, every one of those guys deserved it. Maybe not the handful of women caught in crossfire, but every single man who dies deserved it.
I'm not gonna argue it's brilliant or anything, but I put on a movie called Nail Gun Massacre and was delivered exactly what I wanted.

My advice to aspiring filmmakers: LEARN HOW A FUCKING NAIL GUN WORKS!!! Clearly none of you do!

10. Violent Shit (1989)
I mean, it's called Violent Shit, so the bar was pretty low. But this is missing the pep it needed to really land. Hard to see what's going on, boring and meandering, and the kills playing at like 10 fps is an artistic choice I really wasn't into. I'll stick with Burning Moon

Finally, an assortment for my kid who loves Sonic, Pokémon, Batman, sports, butterflies, Halloween, and is gay

9. Swamp Thing (1982)
Are you ready to watch a woman wandering through a swamp get attacked by terrorists and be saved by a swamp monster over and over and over again?
There's stuff I like. Jude is funny and guys in rubber suits fighting is always a ton of fun. It just needed a little more going on.

8. Eat the Rich (1987)
Prescient political commentary and fun as hell to boot. It's got everything: androgynous anarchists, capitist cannibalism, Lemmy! What's not to love?

7. Dead Next Door (1989)
I've mocked a few no budget films in my day, and there are times I wonder if I was too harsh.
Then I see something like this, that has a lot of good ideas and so much ambition and dedication that I go, "Nah, no budget films CAN be this good!"

6. Electric Dragon 80000v (2001)
You know, I was expecting something cool but maybe a little too close to Tetsuo or some other films I've seen. Instead, this film has a similar manic, high energy style, but one all it's own. Impossible not to be completely charmed by how fucking cool this is.

5. Necronomicon (1993)
Some absolutely mind-boggling special effects and stories that I don't dislike, but definitely needed a little more juice. The wraparounds with Jeffery Combs as HP Lovecraft might be the best part, honestly.
It's something but it's so close to being more.
