I am, embarrassingly, a Latina who cannot dance. Considering taking a bachata class, in case anyone in New Orleans wants to join... 👀

@brianlfrye.bsky.social is gets back too late on the Wednesday nights where this would happen.

This year’s edition also came with vegan drunken whiskey pecan praline king cake from Breads on Oak!
Yes, it's BONG HiTS 4 JESUS and "Fuck Cheer" Day in Romero's Children & the Law!

And this year, it even comes with king cake.
Me, searching "fuck cheer," at work, hoping to find the old ACLU video of Brandi Levy talking about her Snapchat video where she said "fuck school, fuck cheer, fuck softball, fuck everything," and getting results I was definitely not bargaining for.

I suspect I'm now on a departmental IT list.

It is. The Jewish Musuem in Prague has a collection of children's drawings from the Terezin ghetto. It was the worst thing I've seen in my life.
“Collection of Handwritten Letters from Children in Detention Center” sounds like an exhibit in the Holocaust Museum.
1/ ProPublica collected handwritten letters in mid-January from children held at the Dilley Immigration Processing Center, the same facility where 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos was taken.

Hundreds of kids are still detained.

We’ll let the children’s words speak for themselves. 🧵

When's the last you've been to a nursing home? Next time you go, take a look at the people who are doing the hard work of taking care of our elderly.

My mom & cousin were CNAs & my grandma was the housekeeper at the same nursing home. It was immigrants & refugees from LatAm and the Philippines.

My latest, "Free Exercise and the Redistribution of Liberty," is now posted (and forthcoming in @yalelawjournal.bsky.social). It argues that free exercise doctrine uses selective market logic to redistribute both public resources and liberty itself.

My latest article, "In Praise of Generative AI," is forthcoming in the Iowa Law Review! In it, I present accounts from the Worst People You Will Ever Meet In Law in which they praise generative AI and all the extra terrible behavior it enables: papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers....

🚨 New research: FIRST EVER county-level study of racial disparities at the arrest-to-court transition in CA. In county after county, arrests of Black & Hispanic individuals reach court at far lower rates than those of white ones. People burdened with records for cases never worth filing. #LawSky

WOW
There’s a wolf in LA for the first time in 100 years. A collared gray wolf entered the mountains of north Los Angeles County yesterday. Known as “BEY03F” she traveled hundreds of miles from her pack in Plumas County crossing highways, mountains, creeks and valleys.

oooh we are posting super bowls?

As a specialist in Islamic ceramics *cracks knuckles* I present this fabulous 11th c. lustre painted bowl from Fatimid Cairo depicting a Coptic priest. Its white glaze imitates Chinese porcelain and the lustre technique was invented in Iraq a century earlier.

So I heard we’re posting super bowls. Here’s a Fatimid lusterware bunny. Islamic lusterwares originate in Iraq to emulate the sheen of Chinese porcelain, but the combo with highly animated-looking Fatimid animal motifs is my favorite. He even has a little snack.
