Its also strange to me how remembrance day is about grief and commemorating tragedy recognising that conflict and violence is unecessary and deeply harmful, but it has devolved into whatever veterans day is which feels very 'i love military 🥾👅'
Remembrance day makes me deeply uncomfortable with people thanking people who are veterans of recent conflicts where Canada, in support of the US, were/are clear aggressors among other reasons

The way everyone in a position of power in the government and at Canada Post refuses to entertain any of the proven methods that have saved other post offices and made them profitable is pathological.

It should be absolutely illegal for Google maps/Waze or whatever integrated GPS navigator is in a car to suggest a u-turn in directions point blank.
People are doing u-turns in absolutely insane places they never used to do them and it is so dangerous

Nothing riles me up like when a scripted podcaster reading the script they wrote pauses at a non-english word for a people/place/thing that is culturally important and goes 'oh I don't know how to say this' and then they say it wrong, then say 'if I said that wrong please correct me everyone uwu'

And it'll incentivise demolishing existing housing which is bad for the environment. Also - new builds cost 2x existing builds, so who is actually going to benefit here? People who think 700k is a starter home for people who don't have a ton of money?

Anyone looking for their next read this is a really phenomenal work looking at the TB boats in the arctic/subarctic and how they would remove people (mostly Inuit) from community.
