If I could sum up this year in one word, it would be perseverance. I see it every day in Delawareans trying to make ends meet. And I see it in our country in this moment—in those who show up, in the face of danger, to fight for our rights and our democracy. That perseverance inspires me daily.

Constituent advocacy is at the heart of our office’s work. After hearing from a local family farmer about the impact of avian flu on his flock, we translated his concerns into bipartisan legislation. That’s what this work is all about— listening to Delawareans’ needs and meeting them with action.

I have been briefed on the tragic shooting at the Wilmington DMV. I am praying for all of those impacted, including our brave law enforcement officers. I continue to be in touch with state officials as we all gain more information.

1/ Delawareans are already feeling the effects of Trumpcare. Dave wrote to my office to share that without an extension of the ACA tax credits, his wife—who suffers from multiple ailments—and he will see their premium jump to $1,200 a month and will lose their coverage.
