Donald Trump loves to own things and stick his name on them. Well, now he owns the American health care system. Millions losing coverage. Americans paying more for insurance. Everyone having to drive longer and wait more time for care. That is Trumpcare.
Freezing child care funding based on rumors and a YouTube video is reckless and illegal. Fraud should be investigated and prosecuted, but punishing families, threatening providers, and targeting entire communities is wrong. Children deserve care. Parents deserve stability. 1/

It was an honor to welcome my friend and colleague Congressman Jamie Raskin—who led a discussion of Thomas Paine’s Common Sense—and to spend an evening reflecting on the values of democracy, participation, and self-government that continue to shape our country.

Thank you to the Town of Lewes, the Lewes Public Library, and Mayor Amy Marasco for hosting a meaningful civic conversation to commemorate America’s approaching 250th anniversary.

I was honored to join Sens. Coons and Blunt Rochester and Gov. Meyer for the presentation of over 9 million in federal dollars to the Affordable Housing Program through FHLBank Pittsburgh.

This investment sends a powerful message: your community is investing in you, your dignity, and your future.

Paid family and medical leave is finally a reality for Delaware families! Paid leave is about dignity, plain and simple.

I’m incredibly proud to have led this bipartisan effort in the Delaware State Senate, and grateful to the advocates made this progress possible!

We are so proud of her work and excited to see what is next for Respondify and Evina! 3/3
January 12, 2026 at 2:30 PM
Respondify is a a life-saving app that connects trained volunteers to nearby emergencies in real time, helping critical assistance reach people faster when every second counts. This is a really powerful tool that helps turn everyday people into lifesavers. 2/

Congratulations to Evina Shingavi, Delaware’s winner of the 2025 Congressional App Challenge. My office received several submissions from impressive talent from across the First State, but Evina’s app, Respondify, impressed our four judge panel based on her skill, concept, and design. 1/

Grateful to Shawn Colleran, President of the Delaware Association of Letter Carriers, and NALC Branch 906 for hosting me.
January 11, 2026 at 2:26 PM
Great to be in Lewes celebrating with the National Association of Letter Carriers at their After the Holidays Party. Letter carriers show up for all of us every day—through every season and every kind of weather, delivering a public service to all Americans.

I’m proud of the work we accomplished during my first year serving the first—and best—state in the Union in Congress. This year was about delivering for Delaware while defending our values and ensuring our neighbors got the support they needed.

2/ It wouldn’t have happened without the continued advocacy of Delawareans and people across the country who spoke out—momentum that pushed a handful of my Republicans colleagues to join us in doing the right thing. Now the Senate needs to take action to extend the ACA tax credits immediately.
January 8, 2026 at 10:45 PM
1/ I just left the House floor, where we passed Leader Jeffries’ bill to extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits for three years—and it passed! This is a major step toward protecting the lifesaving care people depend on.

Congress is back in session and here's three big things you need to know about this week:

1⃣The U.S. operation in Venezuela wasn't about democracy—it's about oil.

2⃣Forcing a vote TODAY to extend the Affordable Care Act Tax Credits.

3⃣Three more government funding bills are also on the floor.

A woman trying to drive away is dead. There is no excuse for her murder. We’ve seen the videos with our own eyes.

The agent must be held accountable. Noem must resign, but she has no shame and won’t. I support impeachment of this administration’s most lawless and abusive official.
January 8, 2026 at 3:57 PM
2/ While we’re still gaining more information, today makes one thing clear: public safety has never been this administration’s priority when they send ICE into communities to break up families — and its unchecked actions and insufficiently trained new officers are putting lives in jeopardy.
January 7, 2026 at 10:46 PM
1/ I am appalled that a woman was shot and killed by an ICE officer in Minneapolis today. I’m holding the victim and all of Minnesota in my thoughts as they shoulder this tragic loss.

3/ It is a day to tell the truth about Donald Trump’s attempt to overturn the will of the American people.

It is a day to demand better—for our nation and our democracy.

And it is a day to uphold the American values Donald Trump and his allies continue to undermine.
January 6, 2026 at 5:13 PM
2/ Today, we remember the attempt to destroy our democracy from within. We honor the law enforcement officers who defended the Capitol—especially those who lost their lives.

But this is not a day for passive remembrance.
January 6, 2026 at 5:13 PM
1/ There are moments in American history that test the foundation of who we are. The attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021—incited by Donald Trump—was one of those moments.

5/ It is my hope that Republicans in Congress, who have proclaimed themselves "America First" and have tried to shed the Bush era warmongering reputation, will join me and many of my colleagues in supporting these measures to prevent a new era of forever wars.
January 4, 2026 at 11:38 PM
4/ As we head back to session this week, I fully support a renewed and urgent push for new War Powers Resolutions to prevent further military action in Venezuela and to forbid the expansion of this reckless pursuit of other countries' natural resources.
January 4, 2026 at 11:38 PM
3/ Unfortunately, despite receiving some bipartisan support, it was not enough to secure passage.
January 4, 2026 at 11:38 PM
2/ The American people do not want another generation of forever wars — and neither do I.

It’s why I voted last month in favor of two War Powers Resolutions that would have prevented the actions in Venezuela this weekend and would prevent further escalation in the Caribbean.
