Donald Trump loves to own things and stick his name on them. Well, now he owns the American health care system. Millions losing coverage. Americans paying more for insurance. Everyone having to drive longer and wait more time for care. That is Trumpcare.
Freezing child care funding based on rumors and a YouTube video is reckless and illegal. Fraud should be investigated and prosecuted, but punishing families, threatening providers, and targeting entire communities is wrong. Children deserve care. Parents deserve stability. 1/

Thank you to the Town of Lewes, the Lewes Public Library, and Mayor Amy Marasco for hosting a meaningful civic conversation to commemorate America’s approaching 250th anniversary.

I was honored to join Sens. Coons and Blunt Rochester and Gov. Meyer for the presentation of over 9 million in federal dollars to the Affordable Housing Program through FHLBank Pittsburgh.

This investment sends a powerful message: your community is investing in you, your dignity, and your future.

Paid family and medical leave is finally a reality for Delaware families! Paid leave is about dignity, plain and simple.

I’m incredibly proud to have led this bipartisan effort in the Delaware State Senate, and grateful to the advocates made this progress possible!

Congratulations to Evina Shingavi, Delaware’s winner of the 2025 Congressional App Challenge. My office received several submissions from impressive talent from across the First State, but Evina’s app, Respondify, impressed our four judge panel based on her skill, concept, and design. 1/

Great to be in Lewes celebrating with the National Association of Letter Carriers at their After the Holidays Party. Letter carriers show up for all of us every day—through every season and every kind of weather, delivering a public service to all Americans.

I’m proud of the work we accomplished during my first year serving the first—and best—state in the Union in Congress. This year was about delivering for Delaware while defending our values and ensuring our neighbors got the support they needed.

1/ I just left the House floor, where we passed Leader Jeffries’ bill to extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits for three years—and it passed! This is a major step toward protecting the lifesaving care people depend on.

Congress is back in session and here's three big things you need to know about this week:

1⃣The U.S. operation in Venezuela wasn't about democracy—it's about oil.

2⃣Forcing a vote TODAY to extend the Affordable Care Act Tax Credits.

3⃣Three more government funding bills are also on the floor.

A woman trying to drive away is dead. There is no excuse for her murder. We’ve seen the videos with our own eyes.

The agent must be held accountable. Noem must resign, but she has no shame and won’t. I support impeachment of this administration’s most lawless and abusive official.

1/ I am appalled that a woman was shot and killed by an ICE officer in Minneapolis today. I’m holding the victim and all of Minnesota in my thoughts as they shoulder this tragic loss.

1/ There are moments in American history that test the foundation of who we are. The attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021—incited by Donald Trump—was one of those moments.

1/ Health care premiums are skyrocketing, housing is too expensive, groceries and prescription drugs too often break the bank — and now Donald Trump wants to put American lives and money on the line so that his billionaire buddies can get even richer off of other country’s oil and minerals.

My statement on the Trump Administration’s actions in Venezuela.

To every Delawarean—and even those from our lesser states—happy holidays, and have a safe New Year.

If I could sum up this year in one word, it would be perseverance. I see it every day in Delawareans trying to make ends meet. And I see it in our country in this moment—in those who show up, in the face of danger, to fight for our rights and our democracy. That perseverance inspires me daily.

Constituent advocacy is at the heart of our office’s work. After hearing from a local family farmer about the impact of avian flu on his flock, we translated his concerns into bipartisan legislation. That’s what this work is all about— listening to Delawareans’ needs and meeting them with action.

When I reflect on my work in Congress this year, I’m proud that it’s been grounded in a relentless focus on Delaware. I hope our neighbors see my love for this state—and my deep commitment to doing right by them.

I'm wishing all in Delaware who are celebrating today a blessed Kwanzaa, centered on culture, family, and community. May this time be one of reflection, unity, and hope.

1/ Wishing the First State a Merry Christmas, surrounded by loved ones and filled with joy and renewed hope. As we come together this season, we also hold in our hearts those missing from our gatherings this year—family, friends, neighbors, and those who serve our communities.

1/ Every day, Delaware law enforcement puts their lives on the line — a fact that this senseless act of violence tragically reinforces. My prayers are with the family, friends, and colleagues of the State Trooper killed while defending Delawareans today at the DMV.
December 24, 2025 at 12:30 AM
I have been briefed on the tragic shooting at the Wilmington DMV. I am praying for all of those impacted, including our brave law enforcement officers. I continue to be in touch with state officials as we all gain more information.
State police responding to active shooter at New Castle-area DMV
Delaware State Police posted on X about the active shooter with no additional details and said more updates are to follow.

1/ Delawareans are already feeling the effects of Trumpcare. Dave wrote to my office to share that without an extension of the ACA tax credits, his wife—who suffers from multiple ailments—and he will see their premium jump to $1,200 a month and will lose their coverage.

@mcbride.house.gov is right. It’s hard enough being a kid — and politicians don’t need to make it harder.

Thank you, Congresswoman, for speaking out against the cruel Republican attacks on health care for trans youth.
December 17, 2025 at 8:40 PM
I was a kid once. And my biggest regret in life is that I never got a childhood without pain.

Politicians should never insert themselves into the personal health care decisions of patients, parents, and their providers—and that includes trans Americans.
