2/ It wouldn’t have happened without the continued advocacy of Delawareans and people across the country who spoke out—momentum that pushed a handful of my Republicans colleagues to join us in doing the right thing. Now the Senate needs to take action to extend the ACA tax credits immediately.

2/ While we’re still gaining more information, today makes one thing clear: public safety has never been this administration’s priority when they send ICE into communities to break up families — and its unchecked actions and insufficiently trained new officers are putting lives in jeopardy.

3/ It is a day to tell the truth about Donald Trump’s attempt to overturn the will of the American people.

It is a day to demand better—for our nation and our democracy.

And it is a day to uphold the American values Donald Trump and his allies continue to undermine.

2/ Today, we remember the attempt to destroy our democracy from within. We honor the law enforcement officers who defended the Capitol—especially those who lost their lives.

But this is not a day for passive remembrance.

5/ It is my hope that Republicans in Congress, who have proclaimed themselves "America First" and have tried to shed the Bush era warmongering reputation, will join me and many of my colleagues in supporting these measures to prevent a new era of forever wars.

4/ As we head back to session this week, I fully support a renewed and urgent push for new War Powers Resolutions to prevent further military action in Venezuela and to forbid the expansion of this reckless pursuit of other countries' natural resources.

3/ Unfortunately, despite receiving some bipartisan support, it was not enough to secure passage.

2/ The American people do not want another generation of forever wars — and neither do I.

It’s why I voted last month in favor of two War Powers Resolutions that would have prevented the actions in Venezuela this weekend and would prevent further escalation in the Caribbean.
