Perhaps Max Adams made a mistake in his sentence structure in seeming to implying Croesoswald means the Oswald's tree? Perhaps he meant to suggest they're distinct names.

Reading The Mercian Chronicles. Mentions the Welsh for Oswald's tree is (was?) Croesoswald. Does anyone know if that's related to the Gaelic for tree, craobh?
