No, Google, I don't think that the local Office Depot, Michael's, Hobby Lobby, or the three(!) Walmart super centers in the area are going to have an MG Chemicals silver conductive pen. Good effort, though.

Tonight's bit of vintage computing:
The numlock LED indicator on my 1990 Model M (which is my daily driver keyboard and has been since 2011) started losing power intermittently, but the key itself worked fine. Which meant I needed to take the keyboard apart and check the ribbon cables.

So apparently they're talking about taking away the second amendment rights of transgender folks. I just want to go on record as saying I'm happy to abuse the same loopholes the 2A crowd uses to skirt regulations to make sure any transgender folks that want them get firearms. Just saying.

Guys, it's not that hard. Most video conferencing tools will flip the window on the assumption that your webcam has reversed the image. If it hasn't, it comes across mirrored when you share the camera.

Other than the general me-ness of the picture I think I quite like the webcam setup I've dialed in. The script I created to run my dslr as a webcam via linux, use it via OBS, then use OBS' virtual camera with other tools is robust and the lighting was not bad.

I made a change and this is my current desktop setup. The lamp is there for lighting for the camera, since I have a meeting where I'll use it tomorrow. There's another one off-camera as well.

Holy shit someone actually uses my Lydgate site. I only found out because they're having a DNS issue and it's resolving to some 2A site in Connecticut unless they search for it in Google, but still.

Too bad. Move fast and break things doesn't mean "never have to face the consequences of your actions." As much as the Sam Altmans and Elon Musks of the world would like it to. Open source models can take up the torch, drop the hype cycle, and do it ethically.

I'm trying to decide if I should have my SX-64 in the background for my interview Monday. It's not medieval so probably not, but I'd like to break up the tower of books/file cabinet look of that space.
