Made up of mostly coffee. I love football and farmers markets. 🧡💙
My girl spent all week making bracelets for a fundraising party. She & the kids planning it decided what would be made/sold and what nonprofit proceeds would go to. She didn't sell a single bracelet. The kids all bought snacks but no handmade items. Im just a mom pleading: support makers big & small

I know it doesn’t matter at all. But I’m having a hard time bringing back wide leg jeans.

I just saw a recipe that calls for 1/2 an egg in the dough. You guys. I’m tired. What are we even doing?! Just no.

Avocado toast made on yesterday’s homemade sourdough bread and a fresh cup of coffee in hand while I sit on the porch in my rocking chair and watch hot air balloons overhead. Oh. Yes.

Oh hey Bluesky! Just a quick reminder for those in the back: when someone gets engaged it's none of your business whether they decide to have children or not. And betting on when they might have children is super gross. Stop it.

My son started his freshman year of high school today. Time feels very warpy and weird. He felt like a baby forever ago and a minute ago. Parenting Time is wild.

We are very clean people. But there is nothing quite as humbling as hiring professional house cleaners for the first time to make you realize, ohhh. Clean, but could be so much cleaner apparently. 🫠

COVID really taught me that men simply were not socialized to handle upsetting, unfair situations that are obviously beyond their control.

Trump II is reinforcing that for me. Our society simply does not equip cis men with the tools they need to be practical realists about this historical moment.
Men have not been handling this moment well… crashing out, or in denial
Every woman I know sees what’s really happening. Guys are still like, “He just says stuff. He just sent the military in for show.”

Summer is fun and all. But summer break with kids is exhausting. I see the light at the end of the tunnel. This parent is out of steam.

Pro tip: when I’m exhausted and out of parenting patience, and my 14yo and 11yo are st each other, I just start parenting in Daniel Tiger songs. 1) they hate it but 2) it lightens the tension of frustration and 3) I don’t have to reinvent the wheel of basic skills. And 4) it’s funny to bug them.

Trying to work up the courage to book a dental appointment that I've been putting off for too long. Dental trauma is no joke.

Want to know how to fully anger the internet? Say in a middle of the night insomnia post (on another site) that, in your opinion, lavender is a scent, not a flavor. They come out of the woodwork to tell you that you are surely a psychopath.

I played piano as a child and teen. I wasn't good because I didn't like to practice. My daughter is starting piano lessons and we are buying a digital piano. I can't stop thinking about how I'd like to sit down and remember how to play, too. I haven't played in 25 years. But I'm going to try again.

For the 2nd summer in a row in early July, Grackles have come through and beheaded every marigold in my garden. Last year over night, today in broad daylight. They leave every other flower alone. I love birds but love my garden more. Has this ever happened to you? What a wild behavior.

So, we have concentration camps in America, and some who identify as "Christians" can hardly contain their glee.

What a sad day in America.
