Thank you. I love visiting the desert on stormy days to watch the light change the landscape.
It almost looked like a watercolor come to life. I managed to to quickly find a turnoff to take a shot. I only had a minute to take this as the sun hid behind the mountains and darkened the area right after.
An interesting mutation in a gerbera daisy that I believe is called "fasciation". I tried counting how many "centers" it had, but it is too complex to tell.

Shortly after entering Anza-Borrego State Park, I was given a lovely light show, with rays peeking through the clouds across the vast desert.

Thanks! I am not sure how I was able to get them to cooperate. 😅
Thank you! I will have to check my file later and see.
I use paper as a reflector underneath as needed. I hope to upgrade someday to something more professional.
My setup is basic. I bought an inexpensive lighbox kit off of Amazon a few years ago. The inside is covered with a foil-like fabric and had two hooks for a backdrop. There are a couple of metal strips on the top to attach two magnetic LED strips across (I only use one).
Normally when using the lightbox, I set my light slightly in front of the subject. In this case, the flowers reflected it too much, causing the petals to soften. By moving the light slightly behind, I was able to illuminate them in a way that allowed me to easily capture the veins.
Thank you! Just dumb luck, I suppose! 😅
