The W players retain access to team facilities, trainers/coaches/staff, and other benefits during an extension. If the strike happens, the players are cut off from those things
If the WNBA players keep saying "no deal until there's true revenue sharing in place" and the WNBA keeps saying "no, but what if we increase salaries by a tiny bit more this time?" -- when do they finally stop beating their heads against a wall and just start the strike???

When you spend time in treatment you have a gap in your resume and I had jobs before my whole life but the gaps could be hard to explain. It allowed me to not have a gap when I reapplied after applying years before that. Then I got the job and I made it a career and I'm still doing it.
