we’re home & my pops is recovering at my apartment for the next two-ish weeks. post op CT scan was unremarkable, had solid vitals, and pain has been well controlled. he is doing great, all things considered. final part of his surgery will be on october 7th. 🧿

good news: my dad is out of surgery and it went extremely well. he’s in quite a bit of pain as expected but his nurses have been great and are working very hard to manage it.

bad news: why are the chairs at every hospital so uncomfortable? my back hurts.

i’m so tired. i’m finishing the last bit of schoolwork for the first half of the semester, having to take my dad wherever he needs to go (he can’t drive until he gets clearance from his neurosurgeon) & appointments for both myself and my mom.

being a student & a caregiver ain’t for the weak. 😅

angled syringes, baby food, yogurt, scrambled eggs. i managed to eat chinese food (fried rice) i think a day or two after my last extraction and it was totally fine with using the syringe to make sure i got any food particles out of the area.
