This arrived! Proof copy came this afternoon to sign and return. I'm almost an author!
It contains all the work done for the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Keighley Town Council's grant to add 103 names to the roll of honour this year.

Another brief visit to Fawsley, my local #OnePlaceStudy parish, this afternoon. Got chatting to a chap out walking who was interested in wildlife, family history and local history; he has Long Buckby Wharf connections so I recommended that he seeks out your OPS websites @juliegfamily.bsky.social!

#31DaysOfGraves. Day 19 catch-up: Social Group. My Waters Upton #OnePlaceStudy began with the churchyard then grew to take in the parish, including its cemetery, & revealed social groups—people who worked / socialised / played / prayed together, communities within a community—in both burial grounds.
Dockroyd Graveyard in #Oakworth is just along the road from me and the Trust members have done some amazing work both restoring the graveyards itself (with a huge amount of local support) and publishing their research on the people who are buried there:

Burial grounds or memorials—or communities within them—can be researched as #OnePlaceStudies, a brilliant blend of #FamilyHistory and #LocalHistory. If that is something you’d like to learn more about, visit our website for more information. You can also download our PDF guide to one-place studies.

No sprouts dipped in chocolate?
I wonder if the availability of fireworks all year round has taken away some of the excitement of bonfire night?
It's similar to people putting Christmas decorations up in November ...or earlier. The magic of seasonal celebrations is diluted by extending them too far and some people don't realise.
Thank you! I've enabled comments on all of their biography pages, so here's hoping for some good feedback.
We've had some terrific support so far!
Yes, it's also a good way to add lots of extra text to a restricted post-size medium like Bluesky, but the best thing about it is that it means so many more people can understand your message. I really don't know why more people don't do it.
Guaranteed to get a like and a repost from me.

Thank you! I try to include meaningful alt text whenever I can, to make my images accessible for those using screen-readers, and often to give additional info for all (plus text that can be picked up when searches are conducted).
Yesterday we launched our #Oakworth #Remembrance #Trail. We installed 96 boards on lamp-posts around our village, next to, or close to the homes of the Oakworth men who died in the first and second world wars. A QR Code guides visitors to their biographies on our website:

Well that’s that. Very officially done and dusted PhD. Cheers.
A like for each of these because they're amazing images, and a retweet for the thread because you used alt-text, which helps so many more users understand. I tip my hat to you!

Managed another short visit to Fawsley, my local #OnePlaceStudy parish, yesterday. As the sun/cloud ratio didn't favour landscape photography I spent more time in the church. The run-up to Halloween seems a great time to share some of its bonkers-but-brilliant box pew carvings. 🧵 #OnePlaceWednesday
It's a terrific exhibit! Loads of interpretation boards and a video on loop inside. It's well worth a visit!

I do love museum ships and here’s a great one to visit. She started as M33 but later became HMS Minerva. Have a wander.

So do they, and that’s the charm of it, we all do really…
It’s a must for classic comedy. Featuring drunken villagers, the train bar being open …as long as the train is running, and stealing the engine from the local museum to keep the line running…
The Titfield Thunderbolt for me, it’s an absolute classic!
All creatures great and small (the latest series) is lovely. Wish I lived in that time, so much simpler than nowadays.
Just to mix it up a bit: King, Queen, Prince, Princess…
Hope David Jason’s going to buy a copy…
